Paraphrased.....
George Lucas: Darth Maul is the second most popular character in the prequel triogly, besides Jar Jar Binks.
Didn't Lucas say (in a real interview, with like Entertainment Tonight or something) that Jar Jar would have a very small or no role in later Star Wars movies and he regrets putting him in?

Hey, it’s Andy T. from Kansas. I just want to say after seeing the Star Wars Episode 3, I've just wanted to go out and cut some peoples’ heads off with my light saber, but it’s not real. I have to say that it was a sweet movie and saw it twice, but wanted to see it more times, but couldn’t. I have one question. Is it possible to become an actor if I’m real hot?
George Lucas: Well, violence is always wrong. Even in films it is wrong, but the excessive violence was needed to properly tell the Revenge of the Sith story. Try to refrain from hurting others.
The reason Revenge of the Sith may not hit $ 400 million in North America is because people like you are not seeing Revenge of the Sith has many times as possible. I really need for each of you to see the film as many times as possible. Don’t slack off.
If you’re lucky, you might be the next Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise. To become a successful actor it takes more luck than talent. I wish you the best.

What he means is... Do you hear more people talk about Luke or how much they hate Jar Jar? You have to realize that Jar Jar Binks has made Lucas more money than any other character in the PT.

You need to check out the horrible crap for June 19. It's an abomination. Such as:
Hi there. I love the Star Wars films and I’ve read and brought loads of the Star Wars books. I also loved playing the computer games and I just wanted to ask whether you've played them and what you think of Star Wars computer games? Thanx Nick 14 UK.
George Lucas: Well, I don’t play video games, not even the Star Wars ones. I don’t have any free time to engage in those kinds of activities. All my time is invested in my companies and with my family.I encourage all the fans to buy all the Star Wars video games and buy additional copies for your family and friends. Try to buy as much Star Wars merchandise as possible. I would really appreciate it.

Are the rumours true? Will you be making Star Wars Episode 7 - 9? George Lucas: Yes, absolutely 100% correct. Shadow will be in charge of all aspects of making the sequel trilogy. The fact that the prequels have been so successful proves that the full genius of Shadow should be unleashed without any interference from me. I expect the sequels to be the best of the best. Shadow knows more about Star Wars and pleasing the fans than anybody else on the planet, including me. God, this one just really got to me, I don't know why though. Oh WAIT, maybe I do...Anakin Skywalker brought balance to the force in Episode VI, however in VII-IX, there are THOUSANDS of Dark Jedi using, of course, the DARK SIDE of the force. God, this just infuriates me to no end how SS possibly gives himself credit for the master piece that is the PT. That's right, they're not bad at all. You just need to watch them without looking for plot holes and other problems and appreciate how cool the movies are. (Just so you know, the part after the 'Lucas' quote was all me, not another question)

Hi George, I am from Malaysia and a number 1 fan of Star Wars and I was wondering if you could send me anything which has your signature on top of it. It’s my 30th birthday. It can be anything (e.g., poster, DVD or even a toy). It would mean a lot to me. Please email me.
George Lucas: For complicated legal reasons, I can’t sign autographs. It would be unfair to sign something for you and then be unable to sign autographs for everybody else who wants one.

First of all STARWARS ROCKS! O.K., I was wondering if there are any people who are French who helped to create Star Wars because I have to do a project on a French person and I wanted to do something to do with Star Wars. Please help.
George Lucas: Many thousands of people have helped me create Star Wars, but none of these people have been French. Most have originated from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom or Australia. I believe the fact that I don‘t speak French prevents me from hiring gifted people from France to work on the Star Wars films. I rarely visit France so I don‘t really ever have in contact with the French.
What's the likelihood that not a single French person worked on Star Wars?

Hi Mr. George Lucas. I was just wondering what happens to Jar Jar Binks?
George Lucas: Jar Jar Binks lives a very long and happy life. He lives for hundreds and hundreds of years. Jar Jar receives more fan mail at Lucasfilm that any other character. He is by far the most popular character I have ever created. I promise to give Jar Jar a large role in future Star Wars projects so that each fan can enjoy the antics of the awesome Jar Jar. I believe Jar Jar is the greatest stroke of genius I have every had. The Phantom Menace wouldn‘t be the most popular and successful Star Wars film without Jar Jar. I owe him everything.
OK why would he think someone would believe all this? Most popular character? TPM is the most popular movie? Give Jar Jar a large role in future movies? This guy is rediculous.

When do you think Shadow will be making Episodes 7 to 9?
SuperShadow will be bringing Episode 7 to life by 2015. It just depends on his schedule.

Mr. Lucas, you have created cinematic history for many generations. I heard that SuperShadow is auditioning for the actor and actresses for the sequel trilogy. I am a die-hard Star Wars fan. I hope I could get a chance of being in the film, even as just a Jedi extra.
George Lucas: Shadow will be in charge of most aspects of the production for Episode 7 if we ever get to that stage. Shadow will audition people from all over the world to find the best actors for the various roles. You will be given your chance. After all the great advice Shadow has given for the prequels, I believe only Shadow is qualified to carry on with Star Wars. Nobody understands Star Wars to the degree that Shadow does. Shadow is the best thing to ever happen to Star Wars. [glow=red,2,300]He is a gift from God. [/i][/u][/glow]
How could anybody believe this stuff?

Hello Mr. Lucas, congrats on all your work! I have become enlightened with the movies. I am planning to build a home when I grow up with Naboo architecture. I would love to work for Lucasfilm and carry it on forever. How can I get started? Thanks for your time. Octavio.
George Lucas: If you’re serious about using the copyrighted designs for Naboo for your home, then you need to get a license agreement from Lucasfilm. You will be charged around $ 50,000 dollars which is well worth it.
Hmm? If I understand SuperShadow correctly, he's attempting to tell a fan who plans to design a private residence that slightly resembles Naboo architecture that he needs to obtain a $50,000 license agreement from Lucasfilm. All the while SuperShadow is fraudulently, forgery, plagiarizing, and defamation of George Lucas and Lucasfilm without getting the proper license agreement.

Mr. Lucas, I am – as every reasonable person is and ought to be – a huge fan of your vision of Star Wars. I am working on my Ph.D. in philosophy and have been particularly interested in philosophy’s relationship to myth (for instance, I took a class devoted to “Plato and Myth”).
Also, I have read some of Campbell’s work and have seen most of his interviews with Bill Moyers at Skywalker Ranch entitled “The Power of Myth” (along with an interview you gave for that production). Thus, I know a portion of Campbell’s focus, together with the fact that you are very familiar with his work. My question, however, is whether or not you have studied more “philosophical” authors (in the disciplinary sense)?
What thought have you given to myth outside of its historical and sociological roles? Do you think that one even can examine “myth itself,” or the “idea of myth,” apart from historical or sociological perspectives? Finally, do you think there is a/some “core truth(s)” behind all myths, some myths, or one particular myth? Thanks for your time.
George Lucas: You‘re asking some very deep questions. Star Wars was never intended to be the basis for any kind of complex philosophy or religion. It‘s just a film saga. Nothing meant to shatter the world or shake the ideas of mankind.
I‘m very enthused that you are studying about ancient myth in your studies. You probably know a lot more about myth than I do. I didn‘t take courses at a university to learn about the structure of mythological stories. Almost all my information about myths comes from Campbell. I am heavily indebted to all his hard work.
I‘ve never really studied any “philosophical“ authors as it pertains to Star Wars. I didn‘t study every possible aspect of the myth making when I created Star Wars. I don‘t believe you can separate myth from its historical and sociological perspectives. That is the very underpinnings of mythical stories. I believe that there may be a small kernel of truth in every mythological story.
However, the supernatural elements of myths are all make believe. Somebody from some culture may have gone on an adventure which later became the basis for a mythological story, but that adventure did not actually involve any kind of supernatural aspects. Most myths are hyperboles that liberally add to what really happened in history.
is it me or does every other lucas quote have "i am heavily indebted to ___"
