Greetings Mr. Lucas and thank you for giving us Star Wars. I have two questions. First, could you please tell us what specifically what you requested from John Williams as far as the Episode III soundtrack, in particular the Obi-Wan/Anakin duel? Secondly, could you tell us a bit about what other design concepts you were contemplating for Mechanical Vader in Episode III, if any, before you decided to use the classic Vader mask and armour? George Lucas: I give Johnny an idea of what I want the music in each scene to convey. I tell him slow or fast, jaded or upbeat. It’s really up to Johnny to create the actual music. I wanted the Obi-Wan and Anakin duel to be the highlight of the prequels. It’s the big fight that everybody has been waiting for. You will be amazed by Johnny’s theme for that sequence.
Originally, I wanted to create a brand-new mask and armor for Vader for Revenge of the Sith. I figured that since Revenge of the Sith takes place twenty years prior to the Darth Vader we see in the first trilogy that Vader would’ve looked different in his first incarnation. I leaked this idea to the fans at Shadow’s web site. The fans hated this idea. So I decided to go with the fans and show Vader in his well-known mask and armor for Revenge of the Sith. This is how I use Shadow’s web site to create and change the prequels as we are making them.

This one kinda raised an eyebrow, especially since reading the Time article where Lucas said himself that he is done with the OT:
Dear GL, I have read that you plan to change the light-saber fights in the original trilogy. I'd like to salut this idea. I would also like to suggest that you add a scene in The Empire Strikes Back where Yoda gives Luck a book or holocron, this could explain why Luke is able to learn so much by the time of Return Of The Jedi. What other changes do you plan to make IE: special effects changes or whole new dialogue and scenes? Have a good break after this trilogy.
George Lucas: Each time I modify the classic films, they get little closer to what I originally intended them to be. I still need to work on the light-saber duels. You have a great idea about Yoda giving Luke some kind of instrument that tells Luke how to train to be a Jedi. I love this idea. As for further changes, I think they will just be minor ones. We’ll continue to touch up the special effects and certain scenes. Just minor stuff
One other one:
Hello, I was wondering if we will see any double-sided light-saber action in Episode 3?
George Lucas: No, Jedi tend not to use double-bladed light sabers because they are seen as an aggressive weapon. Count Dooku, Darth Sidious and Anakin/Vader do not wield them either in Revenge of the Sith.
Now, I don't know how closely the ROTS Game mirrors the movie, but there are guards in the jedi temple that use Green-tipped double bladed staff style lightsabers... I forget what the race is called, but it was a race of characters that were said to have been chosen specifically for this task, and every one of them had a double-bladed saber. We shall see I guess.

George Lucas: You are very naive. You must be about 5 years old. Gushy spiritual scenes do not generate multiple viewings by the public. The way you get people to see a film many times is to deliver many, many action sequences. I will always cut out crap scenes so that I can insert more action. You can never have too much action in my opinion.

George Lucas: Respect! Why doesn't Obi-Wan kill Count Dooku? Why does Obi-Wan kill General Grevious with a blaster? Why are you making Obi-Wan so lame? George Lucas: I don’t really understand your criticism. It’s not fair to me really. Obi-Wan defeated Darth Maul. That shows how much respect I have for Obi-Wan. The saga is about Anakin so it is only natural that Anakin would take out Dooku. Anakin is getting revenge against Dooku for what happened in Attack of the Clones. I had Obi-Wan destroy Grievous with a blaster because I thought it was a unique way to end the duel. It looks like Grievous is going to win, but Obi-Wan gets lucky again and saves his hide. For these reasons, I don’t believe I have short changed Obi-Wan. I believe the opposite is true. Lucas answered his own question!

Mr. Lucas, is it true you were not satisfied with the other directors work in the classic trilogy? If you had directed Episode 5 and 6 yourself, what changes would you have made to the original work?
George Lucas: It’s true that I’m unhappy with the directorial efforts of Irvin Kershner and Richard Marquand (God rest his soul). Kersh was terrible at staying on budget. He nearly broke me with his inability to keep on schedule. He would shoot scenes over and over again for no real reason. The fiftieth take was no better than the first one so I didn’t see the point at needlessly spending so much money on additional takes.
Richard did the best he could, but I don’t believe Return of the Jedi measures up to the genius of A New Hope. Richard’s handle on the acting is stale. He doesn’t know how to bring the best out of the actors like I do. I’m really an actor’s director. That is why Alec Guinness was nominated for an acting Oscar for A New Hope.
I can’t specifically tell you how the old sequels would have been different if I had directed them, but I really do wish I could go back in time and direct the sequels myself. I really did a disservice to the fans by opting to allow others to direct Star Wars. I just hope the fans can forgive me.

Special Message From George Lucas: “In a few short hours, many of you will have the greatest cinematic experience of your lives. This movie has been over 28 years in the making. When Star Wars first became a glimmer in my eye, I knew that the final episode of the prequels would be one of the defining moments in the history of motion pictures. Shadow and I have slaved for nearly three years on this one. Revenge of the Sith has all the darkness and foreboding of The Empire Strikes Back. It has all the escapism and excitement of Return of the Jedi and it has all the wonder and magic of the very first Star Wars film.
For the first time, you can decide the future of Star Wars. The burden is all on you and your friends. I implore each of you to watch Revenge of the Sith at the midnight showings that will cascade all across the world. Then tomorrow I ask for you to watch Revenge of the Sith all day long. Wake up early in the morning and watch the very first matinee. Then get back in line all day long and see the movie all over again many, many times. Each time you watch the film you will discover something new.
After you‘ve watched Revenge of the Sith a few dozen times in theaters, you will begin to appreciate all the hard work and effort that Shadow and I have poured into this film. We have given our all and the result is something that you can all feel proud of. Your ideas helped shape this film. You all made a difference. We did this together. Your best efforts will always be remembered and never forgotten. As always, may the Force be with you.” (Source: George Lucas)
What a load of bulls**t. Is Lucasfilm aware of this nerd? If I was an employee of Lucas, I'd especially be pissed off about this specific SuperShadow GL quote. After 8 years of grueling work on the prequels, Lucas employees worked their asses off only to get stiffed by this nerd who doesn't even have an affiliation with Lucas. SS makes it seem that George Lucas and him did all the work on the film, writing it, directing it, producing it, acting in it, creating the special effects and editing the film in his garage. Lucasfilm needs to take action and get this geek of the net. How delusional is this kid?

Posted on Wednesday May 18, 2005 on SuperShadow.com... What a load of bulls**t. Is Lucasfilm aware of this nerd? I called Lucasfilm 2 weeks ago and told them point blank about this. I told them that he was posting interviews that he had done with Lucas, and that Lucas was insulting and humiliating the fans who were asking the questions. I asked them (rather coy-ly) why Lucas would say such things, and if it was true. They assured me that it wasn't true and that they would look into it... Apparently it doesn't matter, and they don't care. corn

Apparently it doesn't matter, and they don't care. Hmm? If that's the case, Lucasfilm hasn't threatened SuperShadow with legal action yet because a.) they get a good laugh every morning from Mickey or b.) SuperShadow.com is a joke by Lucasfilm on those who take the site seriously.

George Lucas: The significance of Shadow and his web site cannot be overestimated. Shadow has singlehandedly changed the entire course of the prequel plot line. The fan ideas I chose to include in the films took the prequels in an entirely new direction. The basic plot line has been in my mind for nearly thirty years, but the scene-by-scene details came mainly from Shadow and the fans. The great thing about the Internet is that it allows me to disseminate my thoughts to the fans directly. SuperShadow.com is the best thing to ever happen to Star Wars. I’m forever indebted to Shadow and the fans.
there are 10 new B.S. Q&A. he is definately in his own world!!

George Lucas: Well, in your vision perhaps the struggle between good and evil personified by the light and dark side persists for eternity. However, I wanted to bring a permanent end to the Sith and the only way to do this is to get rid of the dark side. Since Luke Skywalker is the most powerful Jedi ever, it is only natural for him to be the one to destroy the dark side. Evil people do exist after Episode 9, but they are not able to rely on the dark side to accomplish their evil schemes. Episodes 10 to 12 focus on a new type of villain.

Every single response in the Friday, June 3, 2005 "George Lucas" Interviews constitutes as the Worst "George Lucas" Quotes. I'd say that about every response somehow glorifies SuperShadow. Examples:
I didn’t create the idea for the Jedi forms. That came from Shadow.
Shadow has encouraged me to make Revenge of the Sith as violent as possible
Shadow is always right about these things so I trusted his instincts
Shadow told me back before The Phantom Menace came out in theaters that Jar Jar Binks would become the most popular character I have ever conceived

That earns an award for the worst "George Lucas" quote to date. Wow. Words can't describe the delusions of grandeur SS has...

Mr. Lucas, in your original plan for Episodes 7, 8 and 9, who was to be the character that survives Episode 3? I think it would be cool for it to be a clone of Mace Windu! Any chance? From: Dendariiprime.
George Lucas: This is really a flight of fancy created by the fans. I’ve never indicated that there is a character from the prequel trilogy that survives the Imperial purge of the Jedi and then lives long enough to appear in Episode 7, 8 or 9. This is a fan-created rumor that has no basis in fact. The fans are constantly creating false rumors that a few fans just automatically accept as real.
Hmm. Fans creating false rumors that a few people automatically accept as real. Rumors about Episodes 7-9 that feature jetpack-wearing Dark Jedi cyborgs, possibly? Mr. Suttle wouldn't be describing himself by any chance, would he?
