“The reason I chose Ataru for you is simple, you have a natural affinity for acrobatics and reflex-full manoeuvres. When using Ataru you need to remember to keep moving, never stand still, your advantage will come by flanking your enemy endlessly, keeping them on their toes and exploiting defence and attack using elaborate but well place swings and stabs.” He said, his body eccentrically moving and swinging as he tried to portray the kind of agility needed for Ataru. “Ataru’s defence will fall into play easily for you, it requires dodges and well timed leaps. You use fluidic motions to bring yourself around your foe, keeping close to him and sending him off balance.”

Kapar'in watched as Master Nor-Lek demonstrated the Ataru form. Nor-Lek had indeed chosen a style that would play to his strengths. Kapar'in was not as strong as some of the other padawans, but he was among the quickest and most agile. "I think I understand, Master. By keeping my foe off balance, I will be able to overcome them?"

“Yes, but that is way off, for now we will just learn to keep them from overcoming you. Before I teach you to use your lightsaber I will teach you when to use it. When you draw your lightsaber it shows you are ready to take a life, if you are not ready to do this, then you should not draw it. When you do draw your lightsaber you scream, “A warrior I am,” so to avoid unnecessary combat do not advertise your skill. It will often aid you to use diplomacy to avoid combat or even run or surrender, there is no shame in doing such, if you feel it suits the situation better then that is fine, bravery is the offspring of arrogance.” He said, straining his mind to help his padawan understand.

"I understand Master Nor-Lek. I should wield my lightsaber not as a means of intimidating others, but only as a way of ending an unavoidable conflict as quickly as possible. But wow is a Jedi know when it is necessary to draw their weapon?" Master Nor-Lek's words made sense to Kapar'in. Jedi were often called upon to mediate disputes and it was because of their ability to negotiate, not necessarily for their abilities in combat.

“You must heed the will of the force, is an opponent stopping you from reaching a creature trying to destroy the world, or from getting the last of the Juma Juice, think outward about others, selflessness is key to a Jedi’s life, you must use wisdom to understand the greater good.” He said, hoping to convey his point,

"I understand Master. Trust in the wisdom of the Force to guide my actions." Kapar'in nodded. He saw the wisdom of Master Nor-Lek's words.
