Peter Jackson is the kind of director George Lucas should have been. Lucas is a great writer and has imaginative ideas, but as a director, he's trash. I think that he has trouble conveying what's in his head to the screen. But Peter Jackson, well...He's simply amazing. He knows exactly how to tell a story and exactly how it should work out onscreen for maximum effects. I believe that he is one of the only director that can have produce epic films like Lord of the Rings. George Lucas would surely have completely destroyed Tolkien's epic and it would have taken 6 years to see the whole damn thing because everyone knows that it takes 3 years to complete a movie right?

Yes, George Lucas was very good for the creating and all but Peter Jackson is the guy who makes it better.. I really agree with you there.

LOTR was boring whereas Star Wars isn't. If Jackson directed Star Wars, it would not have been Star Wars.

That's cause it was Lucas' vision in the first place, but you can't really argue with ELEVEN ACADEMY AWARDS. I agree with Bondora and Bralor.
EDIT: Except for saying that Jackson should have directed III we all know GL is the man for directing Star Wars, even though the dialogue made me shudder. Although, come to think of it, bad dialogue is what makes Star Wars, Star Wars. But Ewan really can't replace Harrison Ford's role as the funny guy.

Ewan wasn't supposed to do that. And, ALL the Star Wars films have trouble going from script to screen EVEN the holy Episode V. And, ROTK got eleven academy awards because it was LOTR. If the academy wasn't biased against Lucas, ROTS would get eleven academy awards as well.
Peter Jackson wouldn't really be able to comprehend the vision as well. The only other director that can comprehend Lucas' vision, in my opinion, is Steven Spielburg.

there not discriminate against george lucas....hence why the OT got loads of oscars...its just the new films arn't good enough... I agree with that a lot.. Lucas did an amazing job on the originals and they were perfect in my eyes.. But the new ones, I personally think should've been as good as the originals. ROTS was the only good movie in the new ones but it still could've done much better. I sort of agree with Bac too, George had everything perfectly made and all but he couldn't get it out there in the movies.. If Peter Jackson directed it and George Lucas said what he thought it should be, I'm sure that Peter Jackson couldv'e done an amazing job. Look at what he did with LotR, he didn't have J.R.R Tolkien with him to say what he meant by the books and all yet he put together one of the best movies yet.

there not discriminate against george lucas....hence why the OT got loads of oscars...its just the new films arn't good enough... The OT did NOT get loads of Oscars, dude. ANHBest Art Direction Best Costume Design Best Editing Best Original Score Best Sound Best Visual Effects TESBBest Sound Special Achievement ROTJSpecial Achievement Notice how EpV and EpVI got pretty much jack shit? That's because it was just after EpIV that they found out Lucas was going solo away from Hollywood. It's common knowledge in the Star Wars community that the Academy is biassed against Lucas, Matt. You just need to look in more places than SWRP for info. Spielburg was actually a producer or something like it on ep3 He did the animatics for the Obi-Wan vs. Vader duel and the animatics for the Yoda vs. Sidious duel. And, ROTK got eleven academy awards because it was LOTR. If the academy wasn't biased against Lucas, ROTS would get eleven academy awards as well. Rots....Eleven...Oscars? Eh.... ROTS deserves it more than ANH ever would. Honestly, ANH puts me to sleep. It's incredibly slow once they get onto the Death Star and it's enough to make anyone zzz...zzz...zzz...zzz...

dude...just..no and ten oscars isn't alot??!?!?!?!!? The oscars it got are nice, but it's those "yeah, whatever" awards. If the academy wasn't biassed against Lucas, chances are EpV would have been nominated and won Best Picture.

Where is this coming from though...them being biased? Is it that they didn't get as many oscars as you reckon it should of?
