[glow=red,2,300]BEFORE ANY OF YOU FLIP OUT, THIS IS COMPLETELY OPTIONAL AND NOT MANDATORY. IF YOU DON'T WANT D20, IGNORE THESE THREADS.[/glow]
Many of you have pm'd me about getting a character in d20. First off you need your ability scores. You start off with a score of 8 for the following:
Strength: muscle and physical force. Used for melee attack rolls, climbing, swimming, etc. Dexterity: ranged attacks (blasters), defense, reflex saving throws (avoiding grenades), moving silently, hiding, piloting, etc. Constitution: affects your wound points (how quickly you can die once you can't defend yourself anymore), vitality and fortitude saving throws. Intelligence: Skill points given to spend each level, search and knowledge checks and many of your force powers. Wisdom: will save throws, listen, spot, treat injury and your sense force skills. Charisma: your attractiveness and effectiveness in getting information out of others or influencing them.
You get 25 points total to spend them however you want on these 6 abilities. Any score below 10 will result in a penalty in that area. Any score over 11 will result in a bonus. If you are a force user or tech person you want high intelligence. Soldiers want high dexterity and strength.
Then you apply your modifiers.
Score = Mod 1 = -5 2-3 = -4 4-5 = -3 6-7 = -2 8-9 = -1 10-11 = 0 12-13 = +1 14-15 = +2 16-17 = +3 18-19 = +4
I think you get the picture. Now do not add these modifiers to your ability scores. Keep them in separate in parentheses next to your score. I'll add the next step a little later.
This will get you all started at least.

Please DON'T post your ability scores here. Keep them saved on word or for yourself. No need to clutter this d20 helper thread with ability scores from everyone. If you have questions, pm me.

I'd say its probably choosing your base class. I think Kelly's got it all planned though so i'll only help if she asks.

Joining a faction gives you nothing more until you gain levels, and even then it just means you'll be more likely to take a prestige class involved with them.

[glow=red,2,300]NEXT STEP:[/glow]OOC: Sheesh, guys. You gotta be a little patient with me here. Next usually you choose your species but I figure most of you will want to stick to human so I'll pass by that. If you want a character that isn't human then, pm me and we'll take it from there. [glow=red,2,300]CLASSES:[/glow] Fringer: Basically if you want a well rounded character you can choose this class. They learn most of their skills by themselves and not with official training. Key abilities (abilities you should be strong in for this class) are: stregnth, wisdom and dexterity. Noble: I don't think I need to explain that one to you. Perfect example is Padme Amidala Skywalker. Basically those that can sway opinions of others and are excellent negotiators fall under this class. Charisma is the most important key ability; second to charisma are wisdom and intelligence. Scoundrel: Rogue that likes to get by on his/her charm and abilities to just slip into the crowd instead of fighting his/her way out. Most of your bounty hunters, smugglers, etc will have some of this class. Scout: Explorer who knowing how to make it through various wildernesses and space using the knowledge he has accumulated. These persons are excellent spies. Soldier: Do I need to explain this one? Strength and Dexterity should be high for this class. Tech Specialist: Think Bao Dur if you played KOTOR 2. You can work with various types of equipment based upon your training. Slicing into computers, making equipment or even basic repairs are your specialties. Usually you will choose specialties and this class will force you to do just that. Intelligence is one of the highest abilities in this class. Force Adept: You are a force user without the structure of Jedi or Sith training. Basically, your character is viewed as a magic user and come from an isolated or primative culture/tribe. A perfect example would be Ithorian structures. (Again in KOTOR2 you had an Ithorian that said he could try to fix you if you helped him, he was a force adept.) Jedi Consular: You focus more on matters of the mind and collecting information. These persons are usually sent out in diplomatic missions and focus less on physical force. Jedi Guardian: Jedi who focuses more so on the physical training but balances it with strengthening their mind and honing their skills. If you want a stronger Jedi character, I suggest you choose this form over Jedi Consular...but that's my opinion. NOW, you can have more than 1 class....BUT having more than one class will give you a -2 penalty to your bonus for each class you add after your first one. All new members to the board will start at level 5 character. The classes you choose should depend on what you want your character to do and their background. If you don't join a faction, then you should talk to Lirreka, Adena or myself about what level your character should be. Now so that I don't get in trouble with copyright stuff, I won't post the attributes for each class at each level. Here is where you would come to me for help getting your stuff. I shall include a list of skills and an explaination of your d20 sheet in the next few posts so you can understand terminology and what you are looking at.

As you may notice some people on the boards are Lvl 20 or 19 (Lirr, Adena, me, and possibly one or two others) only because we have been using our characters for a long time (10+years in Adena and Lirr's case and a little over a year for me). You will have to work for a LONG time to get to these levels. Trust me. Let people who know about this stuff help you out figuring out your levels(Lirr,Selae/kyra, and Adena can help there). Oh and one more very important thing...
DO NOT PM ME REGARDING THIS... I cannot help you out in figuring out stats.

Well, Kyra is a level 19 and upping her to lvl 20 today sometime. But anyhoo...yeah. Your going up in classes will depend on your rping and types of rp's you do. The more difficult they are to do, the more points you can get. The higher your level, the harder it is to progress to the next level. Just like how KOTOR works. Now, I don't think we need to do this all majorly official, but another reason I'm not posting the stats for each class here is so us ADMINS can make sure you guys are doing things properly and no one is being unfair. NOW for you force users, you will up ranks to level 7 when you reach Knighthood. Master follows usually after that IF you take your first padawan/apprentice. If not, you can't obtain Master/Sith Lord until level 12.
THEREFORE, faction heads need to pm me and let me know when someone has passed their trials and have been promoted so we can get stats for that character upgraded.
If you have any questions you can post them here or pm me. Please be patient and realize that I do like to rp too. It usually takes about 1-2 hours to do a good character sheet and I am not spending all of my time online doing sheets. I will do them while rping, but you have to be patient with me and know this isn't something that just goes BOOM and it's there.
I will make a separate thread for d20 requests. First come first serve. DON'T post them here please, so others can see how to do their starting info.
