*After landing back at the Jedi Academy, Arlon had brought his newest apprentice, Richard, to the training room, to teach him in the ways of the Jedi.*

Ricky follow his master into the training room. He was already amazed by the size of the place. He smiles at his master. He blushes.
So what first?

He looks at his feet and stands there a few moments. His face redding as he stands there.
Umm....they are guardians of peace and order...and they carry a lightsbaer...that's about it.

"Well, thats a good start, but I would like to talk to you about the lightsaber first. One of the great masters of our order once said 'If a Jedi ignites his lightsaber, he must be ready to take a life. If he is not so prepared, he must keep his weapon at his side'. Wise words... They hold true to this day. Some Jedi see their lightsaber as a means of defence, and that is usually their excuse for drawing it. It may be true in some cases, but in others, they could merely not take a life." ooc: GTG

"Correct. Only draw it if you are prepared to commit an unforgiveable deed. You must depend on the force to get you through a fight, not your lightsaber."

He smiles at his master.
I think I get it...so the lightsaber is used as a last resort and the force is used to turn people away from horrible deeds.
He blushes.

There is no emotion; there is peace. There is no ignorance; there is knowledge. There is no passion; there is serenity. There is no death; there is the force. Jedi are the guardians of peace in the galaxy. Jedi use their powers to defend and protect, never to attack others. Jedi respect all life, in any form. Jedi serve others rather than ruling over them, for the god of the galaxy. Jedi seek to improve themselves through knowledge and training.
The Jedi live by these words... You should take them to heart, memorize them, for they shall be very important in the future. What is your interpretation of the code?"

He looks at him.
Umm...there is no emotion; there is peace... a Jedi should not cloud their minds with emotions. Love, honor, integrity, are all good things for everyone to possess, but by letting them control your judgment, as in saving someone just because you love them, may not particularly be the right thing. But totally ignoring ones emotions will lead to ignorance and to avoid this ignorance you should trust the force to give you knowledge. If you are Passionate about something...it can lead to a downfall...but when you come to the realization that their passions cannot hurt others you can obtain serenity. And when a Jedi has found that those passions have become detrimental they have the knowledge to consult the force so that they might find serenity and be at peace with in the force. A true Jedi passes his essence to the life stream of the force and becomes one with it still existing in the force, though not on a physical level but on a spiritual level. So hence, there is no death there is the force. Jedi do not die they become even more a part of the force then they were in their physical being. And the second part a jedi should do these things in order to beocme one with the force.
He stands there for a few seconds.
That just came out of nowhere it must be the force.

"Good. Everybody has their own interpretation of the Jedi Code, nothing is wrong, unless it involves killing people brutally, or something of that sort. If you stick to what you believe in, you will succeed here."
