Indeed. You are a major player in why they became Bendu. Think of it like this: if it wasn't for you and Sabre's character, there are events in the Alternative Saga that would never have happened.
Here's how I see it: there are two different versions of the events.
Version I: You and Sabre kill Ussej Bac and Laili Rendar, but Kit Rendar escapes and becomes a smuggler. Then, we get the events of the Star Wars Saga as George Lucas wrote it.
Version II: You and Sabre don't kill Ussej and Laili, and they and Kit become Bendu. Then, we get the Alternative Star Wars Saga as I wrote it.
