A great movie by my standards. A mix of war, love, passion, death, and deserters of the confederate army. Yes this takes place during the Civil War (Of America). It is great for those who like adventure and romance.

It was good but it seemed to me like something was missing.I still think Glory is the number one civil war movie.

i loved Glory. I never saw Cold Mountain, but I heard it was a chick flick disguised as a war movie. But, like I said, I never saw it.

If you can find it, I highly recommend it. Denzel Washington, Morgan Freeman, Matthew Broderick (and he is not annoying!). Excellent movie. I tried taping it off of TV and the tape ended right at the big ending and I broke my hand punching a wall...
