Yes its the name of the continent. No it's not...Austrailia is it's own Continent, Country, And Island. That's what I was taught in school. (Yes, I DO listen in class.....sometimes.) Australia's not an island. Too big, by definition a continent cannot be an island. The biggest island is Greenland I believe and that is alot smaller than Australia. But anyway I think Sabre means Oceania, which is obviously where I am from.

Australia is an island because its not a continent; its a country. The continent of Oceania (guess thats how its named in english) regroups also many islands surrounding Australia such a New-Zeland e.t.c... So yep, you were right

So yep, you were right No Australia is too big to be an island, it is in fact the smallest continent in the world, but it is grouped with all the surrounding islands to make it easier. As I said before Greenland is the largest island.

I think you will find that size is included in that definition since if that is the only definition then every bit of land in the world is part of an island.

So? What do you think Pangea was? A very, very, very, very big body of land surrounded on all sides by water. By your definition, an island.
