this thread was made right around the time ep 3 came out. But like a few people said, you can't beat the "tension" for lack of a better word of the duel between Luke and Vader in ep 6. I get goose bumps just thinking about the musical score that goes with it. Brilliantly done!

I wasn't a huge fan of anakin-obi-wan....I'm not sure why though... Yeah I agree... there was something missing... although it was symbolic to have two blue blades, i miss the colours. It was also abit too dramatic. Floating over lava is cool but does it have its place within a star wars duel? My favourite was always the Vader vs Luke from ROTJ... then TPM came along. |

Now usually it's the first of anything that is and should be the coolest however the first lightsaber duel was with Sir Alec who let's face it, he may have been a shakespearean actor wasn't up to the physicality of it. Thus in my mind Vader Vs Luke in Empire Strikes Back is the coolest because that was the first TRUE Duel. Nothing not even Obi's ranting at the delegged and one armed Anakin can equal the sheer power of that one line "Luke, I am your Father.". Anything Mark Hamill did up to and following that could all be crap but his reaction MADE that scene and thus made the duel the greatest.

I liked the battle between Anakin and Obi Wan because how fast they swung and they wer both equal in power and it moved all over,Luke Vs Darth was just boring,Darth was clearly stronger in episode 5
