The Sith in KOTOR and KOTOR 2 are just Dark Jedi. They are not really "Sith" at all. Kriea explains this. Exar Kun was not a Sith, he was a "Sith". Big difference. As for Sith Always existing,The Rule of Two stopped the Sith. When the Emperor died the Ancient Sith teachings died with him. The Emperor and Darth Vader were the last. Exar Kun formed the brotherhood of the sith. So he his a sith or it woudlnt be name the brotherhood of the sith

A Dark Jedi finding a Holocron would be little more of anything. The Holocron could not impart upon him/her the power and elegance which the Ancient Sith stood for. The name of the Sith would become just another simple of weakness preverted by Dark Jedi.
The Brotherhood of the Sith means nothing. I could start a new line of underwear called "Boxers of the Sith", but does that mean they really represent "The Sith" doubtful. The only reason I could consider for Exar to be a true Sith is that he was given the title "Dark Lord" by the Spector of a Sith.
