I like Lord of the Rings but it can be a little long especially if you have the extended editions like I do, where as the likes of Die Hard and Indy have lots of action so I just can't pick.

To understand alot of the back story i think a person has to watch the extended versions. I got ROTK EV for christmas after just having the stock version and it shed alot of light on the overall story.

Yeah and on the DVD the making films part it explains alot of why they cut or put in certain bits such as the Faramar being more of a problem for Frodo and Sam and stuff like that.

They changed a little in the movies..not much. I suggest you read the trilogy yourself. Jackman did do a great job though with the whole trilogy. Some things I pictured differently though.

I have read the trilogy and so I know all about the liberation of the Shire and all the stuff they left out. And it is Jackson, Peter Jackson, not Jackman. I should know, we have the same last name! ;D ;D ;D Anyway got to go. Dinner time ;D
