I can't possible vote for one or the other. I love them both. More so in the older movies. They really have me cracking up.
I love the line that 3PO says to R2..."R2 watch your laguage!" I am just dying to know what R2 was cursing about.

I had to go with R2-D2. The Astromech line is simply the most versitile and coolest droids. In the RPGs they're just the best. The R2s with their round dome look, the R5s with their dour almost grumpy personality matrix, the P9s (the prototypes for the R-series) with their tendency to simply take things apart to see how they work, The R4s which constantly break down and my favs the Illicit Electronics Slicer Droids built in the R-series housing. Man I cracked and hacked my way through one whole campaign with two of these Droids backing me up. I nicknamed them Vinnie and Guido  Ripped out that holo-projector and installed a heavy blaster pistol. Plugged in some high priced skill programs and I had marksmen to get me out of any situation.  Movie wise I liked the pair of them but I'll always take an Astromech over the biggest battle droid. |

It makes them seem gay even though they are droids. It has things like 'know lots about fashion' and makes them say things like 'pink is the new purple'! |
