CAPITOL HILL A House committee has debated a bill that would bar women from serving in certain Army combat support units.

New York Republican John McHugh plans to offer an amendment to put into law a Defense Department policy from 1994 that prohibits female troops in all four armed services from serving in direct ground combat.

The amendment would define "direct ground combat" and allow the Pentagon to further exclude women from units in other instances.

Republicans claim the Army prohibition would affect only about 31 female soldiers. But the director of Army staff wrote the House Armed Services Committee that it could bar women from nearly 22-thousand combat-related jobs in the Army.

well all I can say is that John McHugh needs to go to Hell. Women are able to be in the combat units or else they would not be there. They were not forced into their jobs, they asked for them, and the people in charge deemed them able. so pardon my french, but McHugh can go fuck himself in the ass with a barbed wire dildo

Weeeelllllll, the marines already are doing this. So, it isn't like the army is coming up with a new idea. I personally think women should be able to serve in whatever situations. I still would love to be on a submarine...lol.
