i dont believe there should be any restrictions on who should have lightsabers. Padawans should be allowd to have them to train and to become better fighteres and be able to use the saber better - same with the double lightsaber.

Selling and buying of lightsabers in stores are to be prohibited, 'lightsaber' parts should only be sold to Knight or above and the Padawans/Apprentice must create own saber before s/he can use it.... Edit: And be instructed how to do so by a higher ranking Sith (Lord or just Knight) or Jedi (Knight or Master )

indeed no non-jedi should be allowd to have lightsabers - therefore no selling or trading of sabers

if you are not a force users, you dont need a lightsaber, because we do follow the rule of without the force youll hurt yourself with a saber (i think we do at least). Also you should have them at stores unless: 1) a force user who is really broke sells you it for some quick cash, 2) you kill a force user that is a member of the site not a NPC, and take their saber. other than that, rp with a saber to common sense capability, as in an apprentice shjouldnt be able to out do a master in saber skills. (unless the master is a treibble rper who became a master because he kept annoying the council by pms )

I use ranged weapons has some big advantages over the lightsaber and I have no desire to use one to be honest.

here is the offical stand on LightSabers in MY book,, and what is learned after playing Star Wars tabletop roleplaying games for as long as SOME people on the site have been alive.
A lightsaber is a very complex weapon to construct, only those who have a deep enough connection to the force are able to " FEEL " how to properly construct it...however a saber CAN be giving, or inherited.
Useing a lightsaber as a weapon is something again ONLY trained Forece users can do *though like Han proved, a normal person COULD use one as a cutting tool, but NOT a weapon*
As a trained swords woman myself I point out that fighting with a double blade, or two handed is something that it takes years to learn, you need to understand balance and weight, and a young padawan, or initiate would in no way be able to master that skill unless they are being trained specifically by a Master who has that feat * yes its a feat, not a base skill*
I, in RL Fight with a quarter staff, or a Naginata..Meph, fights two handed, even with all my weapons training I can not fight like she does, or not nearly as well.
SO that said.... A padawan, or initiate COULD have a saber at start granted they tell you HOW they got it * the could not build one yet..AND that is a test a master gives his/her padawan before they can become Knights*
NO they would not know the more complex double handed, or staff ability, because that is NOT as easy as the kids may think......and trust me, when you RP, how much you really know in real life about hand to hand is important....
Say, Kyra and I fight,, Kelly has some minor consept of fighting, but I DO have real training. I can easily invision in my head her move, and be able to work with it. though against Tie or Meph I don't stand a chance in the long run because Meph is technically a master in her field.
I say this as a warning,, to the younger whiley Jedilings who cross my path, you are safer with a single blade that with a staff or two, simply because I am trained and will capitalise on inexpereance in that area of knowledge..has nothing to do with stats, just knowledge

Word up Adena.
what my thoughts on it were that for a padawan to use two sabers or a saberstaff they would need to have it okayed by their master, after all he is the one teaching the padawan, and as such the master becomes the padawans parental unit.

To be honest I think there should be a limit on force users, It seems that any 10 year old can use the force and suddenly become this greta power seems unfair to non-force users and force user alike.

Um, once you learn how to move any object in anyway,, the rest is the same, and you learn it on your own as your knowledge of the force goes, Nobody teaches HOW how be a Jedi or Sith, no history, or philosiphy * well, I do* they don't teach in truth what the force is and what not.....

I agree, I think that if people want to be a force user they should have to prove themselves before being trained in the force.
That would make it so there were more then force user faction, and with that the whole site would become better
