Arsenal FC is pleased to announce the appointment of Lord Harris of Peckham and Sir Chips Keswick to the Club's Board of Directors as non-executive directors with effect from November 24th 2005.
Lord Harris is the founder of Europe's leading floor-covering specialist Carpetright and Sir Chips Keswick has served as a director for a number of prominent financial institutions including The Bank of England. In light of the Club's recent and proposed future growth, the considerable wealth of business acumen of Lord Harris and Sir Chips Keswick will be invaluable.
Of the appointments, Arsenal Chairman Peter Hill-Wood stated: "I am delighted to welcome both men onto the Board. They are leading figures in their respective fields and have supported the Club for many years. Their credentials speak for themselves and their contribution will undoubtedly reinforce and strengthen the Club's position as we move into a new era."
With Lord Harris and Sir Chips Keswick joining the Board of Directors, the number of members has increased to 10. Peter Hill-Wood (Chairman), David Dein (Vice Chairman), Keith Edelman (Managing Director), Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith, Sir Roger Gibbs, Richard Carr, Danny Fiszman and Ken Friar OBE make up the other eight directors.
