Religion was created simply to make people feel better about the fact that their gonna snuff it someday, and it was a great form of control over the masses in early humun society.

I think not, my freind. perhaps your explanation of religion was fabricated simply to make you feel better about being unfaithful. if you choose not to have faith that is all well and good.... but it is foolish to try to explain what religion is when you truely have no idea what it is. thats just my 2 cents |

If you take all faiths and boil them down they are all the same really at its core, though I, and my sister are both Tradtional Celt...not the newage crap, I still respect the guy, he had billions counting on him daily, and such a burden is not writt with ease

I agree with you totally General Sever. It also gave power to the few such as the Pope. Where would have he been if it hadn't been for the Cathlic religion? It most likely would have died alot sooner without the church paying for his medical expenses. Alot of people realise this these days and the greedy people use this knowledge to start cults and say that they are gods and have many beautiful women to sleep with just because he has brain-washed them into thinking that he is a god or a messager from the gods or something like that! Also religion tried to explain the unexplainable. If at the time something happened that no-one could explain then it was and act of god or gods, weather it be a gift or punishment from them/him/her! |
