I had a black cat but she's gone now. Her name was Blacky. Yeah I know....real original..lol. I didn't name her though.

ROFL...I have another cat named Butch...but I yell for my cats a certain way.
I say their name and then say kitty kitty kitty. They come running and meowing. ;D

I just yell 'Sooty!' (the name of my dog) and usually he comes running and his whole backside moves back and forth because his tail in wagging so bloody much!

No he doesn't really find stuff, but he does every once and a while, tree a possum. Then he stays pretty much at the bottom of the tree, other than to quickly run and see if he can get someone to come help get the possum down. We usually go down, either shoot of hit the possum down (if it is low enough) and let sooty rip it apart. Does NZ a good deed.
