Yes, the whole situation was a tragedy....one of the biggest tragedy is how it all became a media circus.
See folks we live in a world full of people forming opinions based solely on word of others and the media.
VERY few people will take the trouble and the effort to dig, search, and research the facts.
FACT# 1 not covered by the media :
" Michael Schiavo and Terri stood by watched Michael's
mother go through a simular situation...and Michael and his brother were both present when Terri had stated that she would never want to live like that "
FACT# 2 Terri's parents encouraged Michael to date
a friend of the Schindlers with whom the schindlers had a good relationship with !
FACT# 3 NONE of all this was an issue with the Schindlers untill Michael recieved a large sum of money from a malpractice suiit on Terri's behalf
now I am not trying to spin the situation...it's just that the media really demonized Michael and the courts.
While it was a true tragedy...we can all agree that Terri is now a peace....I will say this gang.
In 1985 I was told by a specialist that I was dying of cancer ( Nodular malignant melanoma, metastatic to the right cervical and auxilary lymphnodes ) and I was 21 years old, now at that age I never thought of a living will, and I remember when my mother was praying at my hospital bedside, I had told her that I didn't want to live this way, and it broke my mothers heart. The doctors told my mother that there was a 75% chance that I would not make it.
I then told my mother that I wish it was all over now cos I was suffering and my mother was suffereing....
I fortunately made it and has been a survivor for 20 years to this day...so I do understand and can relate.
the difference here was that I was aware of who and where I was.
Terri wasn't and contrary to all the hype that Terri was talking and trying to communicate, is all bantha poodoo
and here is why.
IF Terri was aware of her situation, all the doctors would have had to do is tell Terri
" If you can hear and understand us...Blink Twice...
and if Terri blinked twice then there was a way to communicate....THAT never happened...why ? I remember seeing a picture of Terri and her mother with her hand on Terri's right cheek, and if you look at the FACE she appears to be smileing....if you REALLY look at the picture...this is what you'll see.
Her mothers hand is pushing on the cheek and the angle of the camera makes it look like she is smileing..
HOWEVER...if you look at the picture even closer...
look at her eyes...her eyes are NOT looking at her mother...her eyes are forward and in a blank stare.
