Luke Skywalker Turned

OK, I only just found this out but Luke Skywalker briefly turned to the Dark Side.

Here is an Extract from the Star Wars Databank:

Stranded on Coruscant, Luke began to discover strange clues in newly opened secret chambers throughout the former Imperial Palace, clues to the Emperor's power. Before he could piece together their significance, a raging Force storm appeared in the sky. The swirling vortex of dimension-altering energy consumed Luke, and deposited him far away on the Deep Core world of Byss. There, in an ornate citadel, Luke faced an enemy he had not ever expected to see again: Emperor Palpatine.

Palpatine had long been staving death away by using arcane Sith knowledge and cloning technology. Palpatine would grow clone duplicates of his bodies to act as receptacles for his evil life force should his body die. With this technique, Palpatine had escaped death time and again. He called for Skywalker to kneel before him and become his apprentice. Skywalker, realizing that the Emperor was almost invincible, knelt before him, and agreed to join the dark side.

Like a few others in recorded history, Luke believed he could defeat the dark side from within by learning its secrets. He had neglected one of Yoda's key teachings -- never underestimate the power of the dark side. Skywalker, consumed by the darkness, found himself unable to break away from its pall. Though he succeeded in covertly sabotaging a number of Palpatine's plans, he could not bring himself back to the light. With the help of his sister, however, Skywalker was able to turn against his master. Together, the Jedi twins were eventually able to defeat Palpatine once and for all.

Some of you may have known this but what do you think?

Yeah, he made a dumb move in thinking the Dark Side could be destroyed from within but he was wrong.

And, to tell the truth I think most people consider this piece of EU rubish. I know I do. I mean, cloned Palpatine? Come on!

I never believed it at first but thats what it says on the oficial Star Wars Site. I wouldn't have believed it either but you know as its on the official site its a bit hard to not believe.

It was in a comic yes, but that does not make it cannon or anything. And, it falls within the "Expanded Universe" section of the Databank, meaning it's up to you whether to believe it or not.

If it wasn't for leia he would of been fucked but yes the cloned palpatine and the spirit floating to one of the bodies is crap

I just found out that Jude Watson the writer. If he/she does anything it is almost cannon or something like that. Because he/she is one of the best Star Wars book writers. She/He has filled in the gaps between Ep.3 and 4. He/She has done after Ep.6. She/He has also done before Ep.1. I belive I have read somewhere that He/She got an award for best Styar wars book for joinur people like me! ;D.

I think its quite a good storly line. Might sound like me being confrontational but it sort of explains what happened with cloning etc. It would be niev to think that Palpatine wouldn't take advantage of the cloning capabilities falling inot his lap. He actually cloned himself many times when he was "alive". The Palpatine we see in episode 3 technically isn't the one we see in Episode 6, he had to clone himself and then change bodies regulerly. But yeah, Luke was a really crap Jedi by Yoda and thats standards, he (as many people call it) walked the line.
