You really should read up on the facts before speaking. I mean you are 50% going in the wrong direction. Electromagetic weapons arn't an instant 'woot, no more energy' type of thing, they screw up electronic devices not defend against it's blows Honestly you need to read up, and grab a few star wars books while yer at it. While you are at the book store please check out Revenge of the sith tech. Then turn to the page that lists how magna guards energy staffs work. There is a nice little picture with words that explain that EMP bands course the length of the staff and lightsabers disapate when they strike. Please do read before you speak. You make yer self look sillier by the second...Mr. Know it all! Actually, Ashido is right in the real physics sense. Go read a physics book before spouting sci-fi technobabble.

Also, in ep.3, the Magnaguard staffs can be seen working in the way Ashido described. The Jedi would hit the staff and the lightsaber would fizzle and crackle a bit, like say something was causing an electrical disturbance, not dissapate.

Woot, finally someone who agrees with me ;D But yeah, I've never (*Gasp* Never) seen Ep. 3 before so I have no idea, but they have direct contact with the lightsaber EM energies pass down the lightsaber. <Geuss don't quote me on it.

Hate to be the mediator but technically your all right. EMP is Electro Magnetic Pulse and is used to cause malfunctions with technical devices, however as Syn said in the Star Wars universe they were able to build lightsaber resistant EMP equipment, dunno how it works but its definitely there. Considering this is a Star Wars site then i guess it should be aloud, however its basis in real life may not come to light for a long time yet.

I also heard that you can make Lightsabers, that do not get effected. But you need a special part.I think Luke's green saber had it.

Also read the part where I say...go grab some star wars books. Not earth school books. Discerning the meaning of sentences and following their meaning is crucial to any basis for an argument and changing ones words is paramount for creating a one sided and useless argument. Ok this isnt the real world. So lets use star wars techs shall we. I never said I was using real life tech here. The book clearly states that it block energy. So take it up with LA not me. Wanna complain send and email to Mr. Lucas. I just read the books and make my items in accordance. The Magna staff was impervious to lightsaber energy, and that was because of the EMP bands. So whats the argument? Thats about the nuts and bolts of it. Wanna mince words or use the tech? I myself dont see it working. But then again I can't see lightsabers working either. That much energy being contained and without a cap of some sort to halt the flow. Not possible. So we use star wars techs as they are written. This is called science fiction not science fact! Or am I wrong in this too? Whatever the whatever EMP bands stop lightsabers. Maybe "stop" is to strong but who cares it is the way it is. Again please direct complaints to the LA main office since this was not invented by me, but simply used by me. Also making a light whip. and yes it exists. Obi-wan made one for Kit Fisto in the book "Cestus Deception". Have a nice day.

Could you actually quote the exact words from the book? Because to what I read, the wonderful Cortosis Weave has other properties than people thought...

Cestus Deception: Reading it currently. Ok hate to be the mediator again but here i go. Kain is talking about what he has read concerning the current subject, EMP bands, in the Star Wars universe it works and has been proved such. I have no doubt in my mind that he is talking the truth. Cortosis weave may well have other properties but they have not been mentioned because the nature of the conversation was around their effectiveness against blocking lightsabers.

Not Really Keanu, a blaster separates itself from the weapon (So there isn't an electonic device providing power, it's already made) unlike a lightsaber which stays in constant contact with its electronic devices. Unless you decide to be cheap enough and actually let this ‘god mode’ armour though Lets look at it this way: Bob walks though the entire battlefield wearing shiny armour. The blaster (I don't know) Gattling guns fire at him while he alone advances, feeling uber, he goes to a direct assault being a PC he owns all the NPC's in the Trench because they all try to use Blasters against him. "Woop, woop! Owned," He shouts out reeking havoc.
Or lets look at it the Jedi(/Sith) way Bob walks right into the Sith Academy, wearing his shiny, shiny EMP armour bought from Kage's Mastercraft Emporium he is immune to all Lightsaber damage and simply lets the fools try to hurt him while he walks towards the masters chambers, withdrawing his own weapons once at the door he kills the attacking Jedi and goes, "Woop, woop! Owned," And does the same while having a drink against the Sith Master as he tries to chop off his torso.I know no-one would do that BUT it is cheap to no extent and if anyone had this armor they COULD do that. (As there is no suggested limit to how much it could block) Ah the nightmare of a good RPer gone bad; really bad

Well here is what I understood from what I read, and it was my brothers book. Go to the local book store down the street and check out Revenge of the Sith guide to techs or whatever. Ya cant miss the huge pic of the magna guards. There is also a nice close up of it with little lines pointing to the EMP bands.

Do you have a scanner Kain to show us this image (And writing) or are you afraid that we might destroy your 'god mode' armor by actually looking at the book where your proof lives? (Kind of reminds me of this ground-breaking proof with Af’el, you never showed me) The last time I went to a 'big city' was a couple of months ago, the last time I went to a DnD place (Which doesn't sell Starwars stuff ) was about 3 years ago. I highly doubt I'll go to Sydney to just find a store to read this up.

Ashido, don't make such a big deal about it! This is a store, let him sell the items he makes. And no one is going to god-mode with it,because Jetzt wouldn't allow it and you know that! Plus,if it was as big of a deal as you're making it,Keanu would have already deleted it.
