I have recently watched the Episode 3 trailer and I have seen Sidious looking rather similar to his wrinkled self from Return of the Jedi. It appears that Sidious found a way to preserve his life over many years when he was the apprentice to Darth Plagueis. But the question is how many years? How old is my fave character by the time of Episode 3? Thank you very much for creating the finest films in cinematic history and all of the very best in your future. Episode 3 will be brilliant, I have foreseen it.

George Lucas: During Revenge of the Sith, Sidious is about 60 years old. The strain from hitting Mace Windu with Force lightning deforms Sidious’ face quite badly. After this tragic event, Sidious looks much older than he really is.

Many people believe different things as to why Darth Sidious looks so old:

1. He is like 1000 years old and he finally dropped the mask of evil

2. He was injured by the lightning in the duel with Mace Windu

Obviously, SuperShadow believes number 2. That's his opinion and he is entitled to it. I too am entitled to an opinion, and I say that SuperShadow is an idiot.

I meant the fact on how old he is...

The book states he os over 100 years old..

To have Sidious as "OLD" it would be too complicated.

Palpatine must have been taught polotics from a young age. This means they would have records and proof of his age, when and where he was born. They would need these documents to even consider him to be a senator letalone the Supreme Chancellor.

and anyways, to bring up a quote from Pablo:

"Palpatine has never ran since he was a boy on Naboo."
