Jango Fett being a Mandolorian is huge news to me. I just read the RotS prequel book "Labyrinth of Evil" and it says in there several times that Fett was a Mandalorian. To me this is shocking news. I had always believed that he had killed a mandalorian and wears it's armor as a trophy. That was released as ofial EU in "Entertainment weekly" around the release of Phantom Menace.

jango was a mandalorian but not by birth, his family where killed in the mandalorian civil war and the than mandalore took him under his wing this all happening not to long before tpm, the jedi nearly wiped out all the mandalorians except him and a few other's, that is the short version anyway.
