*Roland stands on the steps of the great jedi temple on coruscant... he marvels at it's beauty and extravagance...*

*Roland looks at his hands, they are coved in black silk gloves...*

these hands... these hands that have killed many.... under a mask...

the jedi... have damned themselves to a life of ignorance... they seek a goal that is not in sight... they have chosen a path of foolishness that will lead them to oblivion...

i cannot walk that past anylonger...

*roland takes a few steps backwards from the temple... he stares at it mesmerized...*

i would kill you all if given the chance...

*roland stares at the padawans and knights leaving and entering the temple... he mumbles his words, making them barely audible...*

valkin's time has past... i will reveal myself to the jedi soon enough...

*roland begins to take steps towards the temple... he makes his way through a dramatic entryway and finds himself in the library after a short walk. he walks to the part of the library devoted to the quick profiles and biographies of the Jedi, being a master he is allowed to access the files. he brings his own files up and reads it...*

without my efforts the republic would be plunged into a war with crime... and what thanks do i get? Nothing...

*roland enters his identification number and deletes the file. he leaves the temple and hops onto his speeder where he takes off towards the cantina. he needed a drink.*

[Rayz Manx]

Rayz had just returned to Couriscant from an emotionally draining course of events on Nar Shadaa. After entering orbit, he quickly parked his shuttle at a small port near his ramshackle apartment in the lower part of the city, dropped off his luggage, and decided to head out for a drink. He took a surface transport to a cantina that he knew well. Although this cantina was often frequented by Jedi due to its proximity to the Jedi temple, Rayz was well acquainted with the regular barkeep, and he knew this was a place where he could drown his sorrows while not drawing any attention to himself. He sat at his usual corner table that was partially covered in shadows. His friend Dax, the bartender, slowly approached and said, "Hey, long time no see! How have you been, friend?"
Rayz quietly replied, "I've certainly been better. Really, I'd just like some Corinthian Whiskey, and you can leave the bottle."
"Sure pal, stay as long as you like." The bartender Dax grabbed a glass and a bottle of Corinthian Whiskey, set it on Rayz's table, and walked away.
Just as he began to drink, Rayz noticed a man walk in to the cantina. Although this man had the general appearance of a Jedi, he looked somehow different. Although Rayz really didn't care, he decided to keep an eye on him anyway. He sat back in the shadows which concealed his face and continued to drink...

[Kakashi]

*Kakashi had been sitting behind Rayz when he opened his belt pulled out a kunai,Used the teleportion abilty that he had learned to teleport beside him and held the kunai to Rayz neck.*

"Okay pal get up we don't want to make a mess in this fine establishment."*He said in his cold,arrogent tone.Then noticing that rayz wasn't the one he was hunting.* "Oh sorry sir i mistook you for someone else."

Rayz was not at all startled by the actions of the fellow who had just appeared in the chair next to him. He was however, slightly annoyed by the blade being held to his neck. Although he seemed to relax when he noticed that Rayz was not the man he was apparently looking for, Rayz still held his blaster ready under the table. He said nothing and did not move, but he kept his finger on the trigger in anticipation of the fellow's next move...

[Kakashi]

*Kakashi lowered the Kunai from rayz's neck and teleported to the seat across from him then orded a drink.*
"Terribly sorry about that.I thought you were someone else." *Kakashi said looking apoligetic*

[Rayz Manx]

Remaining cautious, Rayz kept his blaster under the table trained on the man now sitting across from him.
"That's a neat trick." Rayz said to the stranger, "I think you might live longer though if you didn't sneak up behind people who you don't know. Care to explain why you've interrupted my personal and quiet rendezvous with this bottle?" Although his comment came out as quite witty and sarcastic, the straight and emotionless expression on his face remained unchanged. Rayz refilled his glass and took a long drink while awaiting a response from the stranger.

[Kakashi]

OOC:The sharigan eye is the one that's showing in my sig.The red one.

"Well if you must know i'm hunting a Rogue jedi Who just left the order.I'm not one myself but they employ me.They told me to hunt this guy down and bring him back dead or alive." *Pulls headband up revealing his sharingan eye.*
"By the way I'd put that blaster away if I were you.This eye can deflect and duplicate anything thrown at me."

[Rayz Manx]

Rayz calmly put his blaster back in his holster. He was relatively certain that the numerous modifications that he'd made to it were unbeknownst to the stranger and would likely be able to render the stranger's defenses all but useless, but he really wasn't in the mood to pick a fight. "It's not very often that the Jedi bring in outsiders to do their dirty work. They must be in over their heads with this one."
Rayz looked again at the scraggly Jedi looking fellow sitting at the bar. He withheld any comment though because he just wanted to relax in peace, and he certainly didn't want to have a part in the start of any ruckus. He again took another long sip of his whiskey.

[Kakashi]

"Yes I'm told he's quite powerful but it shouldn't be a problem.There's nothing i can't handle."

[Rayz Manx]

Rayz chuckled to himself... This fellow was obviously quite sure of himself, and Rayz began to grow curious as to how much of his talk he could actually back up.
"Those are bold words. I've known many Jedi in my time, and not one of them ever allowed themselves to be easily handled."
Rayz motioned to Dax the barkeep to bring this stranger another drink. The bottle that he was personally working on was still about a quarter full, so he yet again refilled his glass. Although the atmosphere in the cantina was currently quite placid, Rayz felt a charge building, and he became relatively certain that it was not going to remain that way much longer. Rayz thought it quite funny that no matter where he traveled throughout the galaxy, trouble seemed to always keep tabs on where he was. One of the unpleasant quirks that his work brought with it. While awaiting a response from the stranger, Rayz mentally prepared himself to make a quick escape from the cantina.

[Kakashi]

*Kakashi lowered his mask and took a drink.Then looked up at Rayz.* "Well I think that this will be my last drink for the day." *Kakashi said pulling his mask back over his mouth.* "By the way good luck on whatever it is you're about to do.Yes I know your planning on leaving judging by the way your muscles are tensed."

[Rayz Manx]

Rayz chuckled again and said, "You're very perceptive of your surroundings. If I look as though I'm getting ready to leave though, it's only because you look like the type of person who does not hesitate when he finds who it is that he's looking for. I've been in enough fights in the last couple of days, and I'd really like to avoid another, especially if I am not intended to be directly involved in it. If you insist on pursuing this Jedi fellow who you're looking for," Rayz again glanced toward the Jedi sitting at the bar, "I'd appreciate it if you'd at least give me time to finish my drink." Rayz finished the remainder of his glass, and poured what was left of the bottle of Corinthian Whiskey in to it.

[Kakashi]

"Don't worry the one I'm looking for is not here. I mistook you for the one I am hunting." *kakashi lowers his headband over his Sharingan Eye.* " No one who could be a threat to anyone is in here."

[Rayz Manx]

Rayz was a little insulted by this comment, but he felt no need to show this strange fellow any indication of how dangerous he really was. The mass of dead Gamorreans and their Twilek leader with a blaster hole through the head would certainly disagree that Rayz fit in to the category of "harmless". (see thread good parts - nar shadaa for a little clarification) After the events filling the last few days though, Rayz was certainly not looking for a fight. Instead, he decided that he'd make an attempt at small talk in order to settle both himself and this new acquaintance down a little.
Rayz said, "I haven't seen you around here before. Does your work with the Jedi often bring you to the slums of Couriscant? I don't often see new faces down here. Oh by the way, I'm Sheik (Rayz often used this alias when trying to keep a low profile)."
