“I hope you know what your doing?” Seth’s voice rang through Venge’s earpiece, sending a sudden uncertainty through his body, an uncertainty that could be lethal if not quickly extinguished. “As always,” Venge’s own voice was firm and resolute; it almost helped his nerves, almost.
He stared about the rooftop, he was crouched low, and his shadow armour only just visible in the artificial light Coruscant basked in. “You got that hatch open yet?” Venge’s gruff voice impatiently barked down his comlink. “No, actually hold on… yeah there we go,” the reply got Venge moving immediately,
Seth was the best at what he did for sure, he would be Venge’s lifeline throughout this mission. He has helped him through countless mission; always on hand to feed information or hack security, without him Venge would never have been able to achieve the things he had.
Venge reached the hatch and ran his hand around the rim checking for any explosive’s or traps, it seemed clean. “Anything waiting for me on the other side?” he said, his head turning around from the hatch to make sure no sound penetrated it. “Look’s like a couple of guards, scanners indicate traces of explosive’s, and energy cell’s.” Grenade’s and blasters, the precise information given to Venge clicked into place immediately.
He grabbed the handle, and turning it with great care, the well-oiled mechanism made near to no sound. He slid it open, poking his head into the vibrant light that was escaping from the hallway below. Seth was right, two guard dressed in expensive suits. Venge couldn’t quite see what it was that they had underneath their fine silk shirt, but he would no doubt be “borrowing” it soon.
He instinctively reached for his knife, sliding it carefully from its sheath. With a deep breath he dove forward, his hand reaching out gracefully ahead of him. Silent but deadly, his knife cut down the front of one of the guards as he fell. With a sense of eventuality it dipped into the guard solar plexus, not lingering long it came out when Venge landed. Before the other guard had time to even realize the events that had transpired Venge spun on a bent knee. His free leg reached up kicking the on-looking guards windpipe and sending him back into the far wall.
It was a K’tara trip, he would be able to make a single vocal noise for a good two minutes now. Venge took initiative, standing and pounding forward he grabbed the guard scruff and lifted him up against the wall. “You can’t speak yet, but when you can you are going to tell me where Sirlin is, if you refuse or try to call for help I will kill you,” he said, a lethal sincerity in his voice. Moments passed, and when the effects of his kick had worn off the guard spoke. “He’s on the 5th floor, his office,” he choked. “Ask him what the room number is,” Seth said into Venge’s earpiece.
“What’s the room number,”
“214,” The guard said, his voice clearer than before. Venge nodded, stabbing his knife into the guards stomach and dropping him into a slouch on the floor. “Anyone coming along to clear up this mess?” Venge asked Seth.
“There’s a patrol in the adjoining corridor, but you’ll be going down it so they won’t be sending out any warnings.” Venge chuckled slightly.
“Noted,” he said.
