A Brand New Day (Invitation)

[Triune]

*He sleeps most of the time she is gone. His wounds were serious because he could not get them to close on their own. He despised Vibroweapons for that reason. He needed the meat to recover. Her words woke him from his slumber. He looked at her for a moment. She had to know by now but she seemed to need to hear it from him*

"I killed the Lizard and his master."

*He spoke those words without rancor or other dark emotion.*

[Lady Zahra/Jules]

*Her teeth were clenched as she came closer to him and sat on the bed. Her hand went towards his throat though she didn't add any pressure or cut off his trachea.*

"Why?! Why did you do it? Because of how he treated me? I can handle myself. Never did I ask for you to barge in and do anything. Tell me it was a bounty."

*She pulls her hand off and stands up turning her back to him. Her eyes closed as she waited for his answer.*

[Triune]

*He doesn't resist or pull away, but he does meet her gaze evenly.*

"I told you once that I do not hunt people just for bounty. The Trandoshan's time was upon him. When all is calm once more I will claim his head. His death required the Hutt to die or many, far more then just you would suffer. I do not expect you to understand this... I can say it was not for bounty but it was not for you either. Do you have the meat?"

[Lady Zahra/Jules]

"Damn your beliefs. Another will rise to take his place possibly worse than him. You may save people for a little while, but such is life. I've learned to deal with it."

*She grabs the meat and throws it at him though not hitting him with it. 'Mila then grabs some fresh clothes and heads to the refresher making sure to slam the door in the process. She needed that steam bath before she ripped his throat out. How dare he take things upon himself to make Nar Shaddaa a better place. He knew nothing of how things worked here.*

[Triune]

"As I said, you would not understand. You will in time."

*he catches the meat easily though he does wince as the healing wounds tear a bit. Pain was a wonderful teacher. He tears open the package and begins to consume the meat raw. He is methodical about it ensuring not a morsel nor drop goes anywhere but his mouth. He would have prefered fresh but beggars can't be choosers.*

[Lady Zahra/Jules]

*She says nothing to him as she emerges clean and a fragrance of exotic flowers fills the room. Instead of her dancer's costume, she had once again changed into her flight suit. Leaning down beside the bed, she grabs a drink from the cabinet and sits across the room counting up her tips and earnings for the night.*

"Many depended on Vugga for their livelihood. Do you even care of those families that now will starve because their supplier is gone?"

*Her words seemed like she cared for all of them, but truth be told, she was furious that she would have to rely on more bounty hunting to pay her way until she could find another cantina. The officials already expected her involvement in this. She had half the mind to throw him out and take off. Yet, she didn't do it for some reason. Quietly she cursed herself for caring so much for the man. If the officials knew or even cared who did it and linked it back to her, things would be very nasty indeed.*

[Triune]

"Nar Shaddaa is like the Jungles of Ketavekk. The corpse of Vugga will be divided up among the other warlords just like the carcass among the scavengers. Those that were supplied by Vugga will find others to supply them. Those that live here are nothing if not resilent..." He looked at her for a moment before moving to sit on the side of the bed looking much healthier than before "I would try to explain why I did what I did. It is difficult to explain for one not of my people. We are beset with knowledge from birth, from our cindered origins so our elders believe. This knowledge is not whole, no one member of my people have it all, we each hold a fragment. Sometimes that fragment of knowledge speaks to us, it guides us, shows us things that no other can see. The Trandoshan's time was nigh and to let his life continue would result in much death. I know not how nor why but that moment when my fist shattered his larnyx and set him to choking was the only time he could pass with the least amount of death. You will now consider me touched but that is the way of it."

[Lady Zahra/Jules]

*Putting her earnings back into the bag, she sets it down and looks at him evenly.*

"You're right about one thing. I don't understand you. The people will survive because of their innate passion to do what it takes to survive."

*She lowers her eyes and is quiet for a long moment.*

"The officials were asking questions. Whether or not they even care is beyond me. You're in danger the longer you stay here on Nar Shaddaa with those wounds. I have half a mind to turn you over to them.....but I won't. Where can I drop you off? Is there a planet? You need someone to care for you still until you are out of the woods."

*She stood up and pushed him gently back down on the bed.*

"Plus, you shouldn't be up moving around so soon."

*There was an edge to her voice but a kindness in her touch and her eyes. Was she being nice to him and secretly thanking him? or was it just part of who she was and her manner of jobs on Nar Shaddaa?*

[Triune]

*He caught her hand as she pushed him back into bed. He didn't pull her with him but he still held on to it. His flesh is warm, warmer then before*

"You are kind to worry so. I need to be away from this place for a time, know you of any planet that does have woods? The meat you brought me helped but I need to hunt down fresh meat. It heals me faster." He finally lets go of her, the contact, it meant something to him more then just a touch. That much she is sure of.

[Lady Zahra/Jules]

*She doesn't move for a long time but looks down at him. It was only after a few minutes that she realized he had asked her a question. Fumbling with the words, she pulled her hand back and answered him.*

"I know of a place. The forests are plentiful and the landscape beautiful. The wildlife there abounds."

*She takes a step back and turns away from him almost stumbling over Sparky as she heads towards the cockpit.*

[Triune]

"If you do not have an objection I will remain abed. The less movement the less waste of what little energies I have. I do not want to collasp at your feet once more." He smiles at that "I presume much of that warm soak was to ease the pulled muscles you had trying to move my dead weight."

[Lady Zahra/Jules]

"It was a long night in the cantina. I typically take a soak afterwards."

*She moves into the cockpit as the door closes behind her. He was left alone in quiet now. Sitting into the pilot's chair, she rested her head against the back of the seat and sighed. She'd lost her touch recently. She was going soft and she hated it. Keep the illusion she was warm to the paying customer, but never feel it. Running her hands over her eyes, she tried to brush away those thoughts and then moved to activate the ship's engines to leave this slime hole of a planet.*

[Triune]

*Vassur closed his eyes and slipped back into a meditatve state. It would preserve what meager stores of energy he had until he could hunt down some real meat.*

[Lady Zahra/Jules]

*After a few days of traveling through hyperspace, she finally brings the ship into orbit around the blue and green planet. Knowing he requested an area where he could hunt, she scanned the surface for a level area to land at the fringe of the forest wall. Finding the right spot furthest from civilization, she began the descent. Sparky was sent back to notify him of their approach. She didn't even have the sense to come and tell him in person. One would know she feared him in a way because of this or was avoiding him for a reason.*

*Sparky was diligent in his duties. He played back the image of his master along with the recorded message of how much longer he had until they landed. She said she would head into town to get some supplies in her speeder and wouldn't be back for several hours. Beeping happily with the completion of his duties, he awaited a response from Vassur.*

*He rose from his meditative slumber quickly enough. He stretched a bit though not too much and went to the cockpit to look out the view port at the planet.*


"MMmm yes I can sense the life teeming down there. It will be a good place to hunt. I thank you for this." He put that warm hand on her shoulder, not sensually or sexually but a touch, lingering and meaningful.
