*Over the time the carcasses were stripped to the bones and more then a few of the bones cracked open to suck out the marrow. His enforced reclusion was not at all suitable to Vassur, Being alone with ones thoughts are bad enough but sensing the ripples without being able to go to them was worse. The darkness didn't bother him as much as it normally would, hunger and confinement both far more annoying. He realized what the tactics might be, she meant to break him to her yoke. She would be disappointed. He never understood slavehood, it is something his people would not, could not tolerate and there were ways to invoke death regardless of the confinement. He sat on his haunches watching the slave, not much different then the ones on her ship, broken ones. He could gain no sustainence from them by killing them but that open door, of course it was a trap, he would be a fool to think otherwise. Sometimes traps meant for one met another that it could never hold. On this he focused. As the slave bent to gather up the bones he pounced, literally, the distance was covered in a bound and with a knee to the head he sought to render the slave unconscious. Death could trigger something, a warning perhaps so he struck only to knock out.*

*The force of the attack sent the slave falling backwards though no sound was uttered in surprise or warning. As the man sank down to the ground unconcious, no one came to his aid. There now only stood the open doorway leading to complete darkness beyond. Something didn't feel right though. The door was open but there was some kind of device controlling those who entered and left the room. If he looked back on the unconcious form of the slave, he might find out more information.*

*Vassur searched the slave, then stripped him of all clothing. He looked for anything that might serve as a warding unit or device. If he found nothing in the clothing his next option was to toss the man over his shoulder and carry him out.*

*There was no visible devices on the clothing or on the body of the slave. If he truly paid close attention in the darkness of the room, he would notice some odd lump at the base of the neck of the slave. It was near the hairline and very close to the base of the skull.*

*His fingernails have remained sharp do to his lack of hunted food, his body demanding the enzimes that accompany the 'fight or flight' reflex. Digging his fingers into the lump Vassur plans to remove the device regardless of the slave's life. He was growing less and less concerned with these broken ones as time passed*

*The very way the small chip was surgically implanted into the body of the slave was peculiar. It seemed almost to be fused into the upper bones of the spinal cord...namely C3. The slightest prodding in the wrong area could result in serious damage to the spinal cord. How was he to remove the device? Rajani watched with wide eyes through a small camera inside the room. Her fingers bit into the skin of her hands as she waited for him to rip into the slave to get what he wanted.*

*He frowned at the chip and it's lethal attachement. He knew by how it was installed it was a test, 'does he take a life to escape or does he remain a captive and let the slave live?'.... The Lady or the Tiger... He closed his eyes, crouched over the slave's body. To all outward appearences he simply sits there, perhaps thinking over his options. In truth he was thinking but not about his options. His thoughts turned to his youth on his homeworld. His were not a peaceful people, many would call his people savage or brutal and they would be right. He was barely thirteen summers at the time... it had started over nothing, something foolish no doubt but he and his cousin Taenir came to blows, blows grew into a fight and soon Taenir lay dead at his feet. When his mother, the Leader of the Clan, found out Vassur was lashed twenty times for killing a member of the clan, it was a punishment he expected but the talk with his mother afterwards was not. "You did well my son. When battle comes regardless its reason you did what all of our people must do, struggle to survive. Hesitation can be the death of a warrior. When it comes down to you killing to survive or not there is only one choice..." He knew from that day there had to be another way but as always the words of his mother came back to haunt him. The growl started deep in his bones, deep in his memory but soon it grew audible, then became loudas he exploded into action. His fists struck the back of the slave on the shoulderblades shattering the thick bones, the second blows fractured the ribs the third and final strike came with claws extended. Digging them deep into the body (For surely the slave was a cadaver by now) at his lower back. Blood blossomed from the wound as he gripped the spin and rose, putting his foot on the shoulder. With one savage pull there came a gristly grinding, breaking sound as flesh, muscle and bone gave way as he ripped the spine with head still attached to it from the body. Brandishing it like a weapon he spun around, his face a near rigor of feral fury.*
"Is this what you wanted to see?" he roared, spraying blood over the room. "Do you think I'll shirk from killing your meat thralls? Do you think this is Darkness?? You are a FOOL if you do! I have ripped the arms off Trandosans and beat them to death with them! I have snaped the spine of a Wookie that thought size meant superiority! Death is the only thing that can stop me Kashini! Anything that does not kill me only makes me stronger!' As quickly as his rage came it vanished, he walked towards the doorway.

*She appeared in the doorway facing him. The look upon her face was unreadable.*
"Where did that rage come from? Do you want to break me in half as well? Will that satisfy your lust for getting out of this room? What is it you desire, Vassur? You are as much a slave to yourself as this man was to me. Yet, still you seek to keep yourself shackled. Is this the kind of life you so want to live? You could have so much more."

"You wanted him dead, why else would you send him here alone? I need to hunt, I need fresh kills to eat... These two things I cannot escape, No matter how far I travel, or how much I learn nothing can free me from those two needs. No training you can give me will free me from them. Now that you know this you will use them as tools to keep me under your thumb, you will never teach me what I want to know, only what you want me to learn." He tosses the head and spine at her, "Say what you will that is how it will be in the end."

*A smile slowly creeped up on her face. The suspicions were true then. The bloody mess struck her and then fell to the ground sending dark red blood against her black robes. Stepping through the threshold of the door as if passing through a curtain, she moved in front of him.*
"You need to hunt and kill. Then do so with me. I know your despise and hatred towards me. Why not end it now? Rip me to shreds and eat my own flesh. Free yourself."
*She opens her eyes wide almost as in invitation. Something already was up her sleeves.*

"Because I am not some Rancor you can goad into fighting at your whim. We both know you would not be so open with your offer if there was even a hair's breath of a chance that I might succeed. I will not hunt sentients for food, I may be shackled to my beastial nature that does not mean I must become truly a beast. If this is your method of teaching I fear your students must have a very low success rate." He turns his back to her and walks towards his pallet.

"DON'T WALK AWAY FROM ME BEFORE I'M THROUGH!"
*Her patience to this point had been stretched but this act of defiance and these words were enough. She reached out her hand focusing on the Force flowing through his brain and the neural pathways associated with it. Manipulating them so the pathways were overstimulated to the point of excruciating pain, she hoped he would learn this very valuable lesson.*

*Pain, pure white pain, that was exactly what he wanted right now. It he knew would never lie to him, It was always real. The force of it took his legs out from under him, dropping him to the floor. A gasp rather then a cry, so sudden and excruciating was the pain. It threatened to take his consciousness, to scramble his thoughts but deep inside himself the pain was a gift. He focused on it, feeding on the sheer burning fury of it. Slowly, agonizingly from the crumpled hulk he had become, Vassur pushes himself to rise first to his knees, next to one foot and then like a weed that just won't die he reaches his feet. Within his flesh enzymes and chemicals pumped, repairing the weakness and damage done by days of starvation, his body needed this. He turned around, it felt like it took hours to do so, his body was so leaden by the pain she wrought upon him. Blood trailed down from his nostrils, from his ears as flesh warred against the invading pain. He looked at her with eyes wild and wide, his heart pounded spasmoidcally as if it were in the midst of a heart attack but he would not succumb.*
"I am Vassur Naar..." His voice came through clenched teeth and to him sounded muted and distant. "Son of Kiela.... by Bailor," he forced his feet to move, taking a step towards her. Every bone in his legs felt shattered. "...blood of Sendris..." He takes a second step towards her, his fingernails having grown into very visible and razor-edged looking talons... "And... You... cannot... Break... ME!"
*He labored to remain conscious, he would not submit, not to this, not now. He would not be broken, beaten, physically torn yes but he would remain himself.*

*The very resolve of him was greater than she had ever seen in another. Had the Jedi the resolve of him, they might be unstoppable.*
"Your defiance only prolongs the inevitable. You will serve me completely."
*There was one piece of evidence she had to possibly break his current defiance but it wasn't time to reveal it yet. She would test him further.*
"The fire has already begun to consume the forest. You can stand and be obliterated or bend to the will of the flames and welcome the new birth to come. You want to hunt...then earn it."
*She turns to walk towards the door and commands it to be shut. The corpse of the slave was removed leaving Vassur alone and without food. If it was pride, then she would have him crawling before her begging.*
"No one enters for the next 10 days. No food....no water...no matter what demands he makes or his condition, you give him nothing."
*The guards nod their head and she walks away.*

*He won, he knew it and she knew it. Falling to the ground after she left he knew it would only cost him in the long run but he would not break to her, not this way. He lay there trying his best to stop his heart from racing. It was a narrow thing, this time. He knew she would try a different tactic, this time he succeeded in confounding her, next time he would have only the luck of the fates on his side. She would not use pain again, at least no so readily. He passed out there and then, unable to sustain his awareness any further he needed sleep, she would starve him out, he had to preserve what resources he had.*
