That specific thread got out of control. Talking to problem users is one thing, but leaving a thread like that open gives people a chance to respond to the problem user, even if said user can't respond to the thread. We've seen that people on this site are not mature enough to handle issues like these, so if a thread like that goes out of control why would users deserve to have it left open?

Unfortunately, this forum is for all of our members and not the select few who are old enough or mature enough to handle certain topics. If you want to discuss such heated topics, do so in an IM. Numerous times polls and threads on religious or even political issues have turned sour and dredged up all kinds of hostilities. If you notice, this thread went on for a long time BEFORE it was locked. It was locked to keep the tension and heated argument that had developed down. If you don't want your threads to be locked, then work with others and find ways to listen to them without bashing them for what they believe to where hostilities grow. There's a big word called "Tolerance" some people here need to learn. NOTE I said tolerance and not acceptance. You can disagree, but respect others when doing so. I'll get off my rant box now.
