Exactly. The COUNCIL had influence, they made the decicions... they just strongly trusted the judgement of oldguys like Mace and Yoda. And we don't have that here... just one little guy everybody goes running to... it's unjedi-like, gosh darndet.

What we need is a balanced group of Jedi Masters who are willing to do all the IC leadership stuff... that way no one person gets over powerful or power hungry. Thats why the 'real' Jedi had it set up like that, in my opinion.
Not to mention it's more Jedi-like. In the movies (with the exception of Luke's time) and every where else it's always the COUNCIL who makes decisions as a whole, not one person. Albeit one person's opinion may have a big effect, but they can't really do anything without the whole council approving it...
If that made any sence...
