I think Masters and Padawans should be able to train in Instant Messages, making training go by MUCH faster. They could then copy the entire IM training and post it in training threads.
Example:
slapshotmatt9: "I am here, Master."
masterduncan78(? ;D): "Good, are you ready to begin your training?"
slapshotmatt9: "Yes, Master."
masterduncan78: "That's good to hear. Now, show me your fighting stance. We will start by training you with the lightsaber."
slapshotmatt9: Barrill got in the High Stance and ignited two sabers.
Get what I'm saying? A Padawan could become a Knight practically in one day.

We dont want Padawans advancing too quickly. Takes the fun and challenge out of things, see?  . But it would be much easier. I did some training over AIM as a Padawan, and it worked well... Only problem is there is no proof that a person DID train. They could just say they did, and if the Master agreed, then they could bolster their ranks immensely, making tons and tons of Masters. Also, my AIM name is HomerSimpson943 ;D |

I suppose you're right, but what if they copied and pasted the IM's onto the thread? I agree with the advancing too quickly part, though.
And Markis, that's what happened to me before Duncan came back a couple of days ago. It kinda pissed me off.

Well I think its a bad idea. It spoils all the fun of RP. If you wanted to do that then whats really the hole point of training? Yea, you could copy and paste but others would also would like to view or reply to fatal errors in training. |

I would have to agree 100% with what Elementral said; Training can be used to both 'train' up someone’s RPing skills and for some reason I hate writing/reading one liners Eg; Bob walked into a bar. Training on your IM's is kinda pointless in my opinion. You have forums to rp this stuff in. By doing your training online, you're robbing others who are new to rping from seeing how training is done #1. #2. You're creating more work for yourselves. Why do it on IM and then copy and paste it over here? Makes no sense. Your forums are set up so that you have ample space to train. Take advantage of it. Be social...we're rping anyway....lol. Come out of the boxes and onto the forum people!!  |
