What about using d20 rules for dueling? I can DM the fights (roll the dice) or someone else if I am dueling. I can write up some very simple rules for dueling. It would be just like KoToR rules pretty much.
I also have about 20 star wars role playing books and know what does what damage from what range etc, etc.
Well lemme know what ya think.
PS: I have never dueled before but it sounds like at the out set some can just say he opens my skull with a can opener and kill me? Then I have to revive and just kill him?
Just an idea though.

such an action would make duels boring and too technical. Its the story-writing most enjoy, not the actual fight.
Besides, good rpers make good duels.

I prefer the talking and battle's to actually dueling as well
