Kage was born to a very young mother. His father was unknown to him until he was old enough to understand what became of his father. Kage loved to sit upon the grassy hill near his home and peer into the star filled night's sky, and dream of exploring the vastness of space. On his sixth birthday his mother finally told him the tale of who his father was and why he had to leave Corellia. Kage was hurt, but understood that Jedi were not allowed to have families. A great price to pay for protecting the republic, and that included his home as well.
The great war finally reached Corellia as Kage and his mother left their home to head for Alderan. Many feared that much of the war would be fought in space surrounding Corellia since the shipyards that orbited the planet were a highly sought after resource...
Kage would watch the holonet whenever possible hoping to catch the slightest glimpse of his father, until one day while walking home from school he saw a column of smoke rising in the distance...It was oddly close to where his house sat. He ran as fast his feet would carry him only to find his house aflame, and his mother no where in sight. He would later learn that his mother had been burned alive while she slept. The fire's origins were never discovered...So he was forced into an orphanage since his grandparents had been slain a few years ago he had no other family. Six months later a tall man came to visit him, a man he had never laid eyes on before, but could not deny the strong resemblance to one another...Could it be? His heart threatened to jump from his chest as the man approached and kneeled before him as he spoke in a soft voice...

That was the first time I had ever ridden on a space ship. It was amazing. I was scared but I couldn't let my dad see. I could not longer contain my fears when we jerked suddenly as the great ship jumped to lightspeed...The stars flew by in streaks of silver and blue....My mind raced, as the sweat began to increasingly flow from my brow to rest in my eyes or roll off my cheeks to fall silently upon the floor....My eyes blurred and my mind slowed...right before I started to pass out, I felt a large hand caringly grasp my shoulder as the sound of my fathers soothing voice rang in my ears...He promised we were safe, and somehow I did not doubt him. His voice had a certain way of calming me almost instantly, but also seemed as if his words were more than that...they seemed magical to me...
After we arrived on Ossus I began to learn the ways of the Jedi..In secret of course. The Jedi were not allowed attachments and his reputation as a jedi master would be compromised if he did not practice that which he preached to the younger Jedi of the order...I stayed mostly with my Uncle Ulvek the grumpy mandalorian...He always seemed to be in a such a serious mood, but he was still a nice man, and he taught me much during our chats and training sessions...
Today was a great day! I finally became a Jedi knight! No grand ceremony marked the occasion, just a pat on the back and a few words of encouragement from my father, which was enough for me. I only wished to make him proud and live up the great name of Lightbringer...
One day as I was heading back from the great hall, I saw Ulvek walking toward me, a sad look etched across his normally stern visage...The news of my fathers death was crushing...I ran as fast my feet would bear me to the large rocky outcropping where I came everyday to meditate on all that I had learned...I found this day was much different...
I would never again see my father! How could he do this to me? He was unbeatable! There was no way someone could have killed him! The feelings of betrayal steadily washed over me until I felt the familiar touch of my fathers hand upon my shoulder...as his voice once again caressed my ears...
