History
Part 1: Independence
Part 1: Independence
Xanatos Gil'than was born on the planet of Omyete-Ikhoq, a short hyperspace jump off of the Corellian Run. Omyete Ikhoq is known for both it's incredibly harsh winter climate, and it's great and dangerous wildlife population. Xanatos was the son of a Royal Guard father and a wealthy mother, who died giving birth to him. Xanatos's father taught the boy everything he could...sharpshooting, self-defense, and, most importantly, honor. He taught him that a man is nothing without honor.
Xanatos was a quick learner, and he had much time on his hands. He trained for hours, and became formidible in the art of Teras Kasi...steel hands. Before he could learn more, however, his father was killed by a ruthless disease. A conspiracy was revealed within the government, and Xanatos left the planet, disgusted. He was 15.
Part 2: Bounty Hunter
Xanatos tried to make it on his own. Slowly, through the bitter way of experience, he learned the ways of the bounty hunter. He learned that he had to be ruthless to survive. He had to kill, or be killed. He hunted, he killed, and his skills became sharper. He also became more and more formidible in the art of Teras Kasi. With the deaths of the bounty hunter legends such as Cassus Fett, Jurgan Kalta, and Jamoh Hogra, Xanatos did not have much competition. Seeking worthy challenges, Xanatos began to take on bigger contracts. One mission, however, he could not handle...an attempt to kill a Mandalorian Commander. He was captured, and imprisonned with the Mandalorians. He was 20.
Part 3: Mandalorian Prisoner
Xanatos was held by the Mandalorians for several years. They considered his skills honorable, and would use him as a training instrument. Through these exercises, Xanatos gained strength. And, as he did so, he began to hold back during training, making him appear weaker than he was. The Mandalorians simply thought that he was out of the exponential phase of his learning...but in truth, he was growing just as strong as he had been.
The Mandalorians began to teach their young toy, also. The commander taught him the Mandalorian ways, their language, their history, and their culture. Xanatos learned of the Commander's elite unit...the Icefangs. The Icefang was a mystic predator, which, was rumored, knew no fear, nor anger, nor weakness. It always fought to the best of it's ability until the end, and wasn't distracted by neither wounds nor emotion. Xanatos studied the beast, and began to incorporate it's fighting style with his Teras Kasi techniques, creating a dangerous hybrid form which he called 'Temper of the Icefang'. The Mandalorians approved. After holding him for 4 years, he was released, and brought into their culture.
Part 4: Mandalorian
Something else that intrigued Xanatos was the Mandalorian's sense of honor. He adopted their creed as his own. Xanatos was brought under the wing of the Commander himself, and became his own protegee. However, things quickly changed.
During a scouting mission to Utapau, the Icefangs were given the opportunity to destroy a village of innocents after a successful firefight with the local government. The soldiers wanted to destroy it. Xanatos and the Commander were against it. The Commander said that killing innocents and not giving them the right of combat for no reason other than killing them was wrong. He said that such actions were justified when they met a military goal such as the destruction of a shield generator, but without a reason, it was dishonorable. His men turned against him. Xanatos fought at his side, but the Commander fell. Xanatos fought on. The group underestimated the untapped skills he'd had for so long, and Xanatos managed to kill the rest of the unit. The Icefangs were no more.
Part 5: Temper of the Icefang
[/i][/center]Xanatos, shattered like the forsaken honor, left the Mandalorians. He continued to hold the Mandalorian code of honor close to him, but he felt no more ties to the Mandalorians themselves. He resumed his ways as a bounty hunter, and a mercenary. Xanatos was powerful...and he adopted the Icefang as his title. He ran into a Jedi Knight in his travels, who claimed Xanatos had the Force. Xanatos considered this a blight on his honor...to fight with a strange power at his back was an unfair advantage. Xanatos dismissed the Jedi's thoughts, and brushed him off like nothing.
Keeping himself in rigorous physical shape is one of Xanatos's highest priorities. He does this through fighting his opponents with melee weapons, in order to keep his honor. On an extremely rare and necessary occasion, Xanatos will carry a blaster, but these occasions are few and far between.
