Since the fall of Coruscant a feeling of disenfranchisement grew in the galaxy, particularly in outlying systems where heavy taxation was not balanced by improved services. Corporations like the Trade Federation, the InterGalactic Banking and the Techno Union sought to teach the Republic a lesson and allied themself with a maverick group of Dark Knights compose only of the strongest Lords of the Sith, the Macabre Alliance. They soon led a popular movement and in their wake many other corporations decided to join them and pledge their mighty droid armies to the cause. The most noteworthy of them was the Bacta Cartle, Arakyd Industries and the Janur industrial Armour.
Mortis ran as fast as he could but the complex sprawled on forever, with walks of moving metal all around. Effective, it would seem, against anything but a Jedi. As he fled through the factory, he managed to rasp another order into his wrist comm. At his words, a wall of steel doors slid open, and a dozen walkers clattered into the corridor behind him. He spared himself one look back, just long enough to see the droids opening fire on the hellion chasing him....He had managed to slice in the main console and turn a few legions of droids agasnt their masters but it was only a matter of time before the few squads of droid under his command would be destroyed. This facility was in charge of making Decimus class Starfighters -- small fighters with massive guns and sophisticated targeting arrays. The new fighter had undergone some combat experience and entered production before the factory and all existing models except one were destroyed. The cloaking device of the Decimus seems to be fueled by oridium ore and produces a "cloak field" that renders the fighter effectively invisible to both electronic sensors and human sight. The fighter's cloaking device is widly considered to be an active stealth system with electronic systems to break up incoming sensor beams and a refractive surface covering to make it harder to spot visually.
