Tatooine The twin suns were blazing like a thousands flames in a blue sky without a single cloud. They poured down upon the desert environment glistening rays of light that created endless waves of searing heat who moved betwen the rocky mesas, canyons and arroyos that broke up the monotony of kilometers of shifting dunes.
On the outskirts of Mos Espa was the immense venue for watching the popular Boonta Eve Classic podrace. Hundred of Thousands of spectators quickly filed the grandstand seats, crowded the broad viewing platforms and even clustered into the upper tiers to catch but a single glimpse of the high-speed spertacle.
Once the formal race ceremony ended the podrace engines roar to life, seemingly anxious at the chance to soar at speeds exceeding 700 kilometers-per hour. The fans were now cheering like never before at one of their favorite contestant, Mortis Vhal. His podracer was a imposing giant, an black-hued bully of a craft whose pounding thundering engine roar seemed powerful enough to knock down opponents.
The Danthari had many advantages over his opponents, his small frame allowed him to sit in the tiny cockpit, and his superhuman reflexes gave him the advantage he needed to keep up with alien competitoors better suited for the sport.
Mortis sat inside, awaiting for the notorious Jooba the Hutt to start the event.

"Kaa bazza kundee da tam hdrudda!"
"Let the game begin" said Jooba in huttese as the thunderous applause coming from the crowd was greatly amplify. Mortis strapped the security belt around him and adjusted his old racing helmet on his head. With a ear-piercing sound, the four high-powered Collor Pondrat engines of his pod suddenly locked into each other via blazing energy binders. The contestant were now awaiting the light to turn green.

Immediately after the light turned green, Mortis Vhal pushed the pods controllers forward, sending all available power into the Collor-Pondrat. The engines moved at tremendous speed, dragging the Pod and the Danthari behind them.
Mortis quickly chased the others with an iron will, without caring about anything else other than the little mobile black dots that betrayed the position of his opponents. He stormed inside a desertic valley and the piercing cry of the engines became more and more acute as the ground beneath him was now only but a sea of intense heat and searing lights.

Mortis was going so fast that the environment around him became a blurr and indistinctible sight, cooked by the intense heat of the twin suns. Infront of him the first rocky mesa, an broad, flat-topped elevation with one or more cliff-like came forth out of the horizon. The Danthari could now see the other podracers, gleaming forms who were flying above the scorched earth with their soaring engines spitting blistering flames and clouds of black smoke. Mortis was rapidly reducing the distance betwen them. The Collor Pondrat were hurling like a thousand demons. In pure speed, he knew it, no other engine could challenge his owns.

Hours passed and Mortis was now in first place and was going to finish the third and last lap of the race. But Xeltii Mak, another podracer was closing behind him at tremendous speed. Xeltii stayed cautiously away from Mortis who was awaiting for the perfect time to strike. Suddenly the Danthiri waved his hand wildly out of the cockpit and hurled a piece of metal directly in the the air administration chamber of the left engine of the Xeltii's pod. The metal stroke frenziedly the metal, and the shattered engine began releasing hazardous clouds of black smoke. There was a deflagration and the podracer turned into a giant fireball before crashing on the scorched earth in a geyser of sand and rumble.

Vialo gunned her speeder as fast as she could so that she could speed past Mortis. The blue Twi-Lek smiled as she began to catch up with him.
Suddenly, shots began to rocket off of her speeder. She took her eyes off the race for a second and concentrated back on the race.
Damn! Tuskin Raiders!

OOC: Looks like fun.... ;D Don't mind if I do...
From her place beside the stands (She'd been unable to procure a seat) Lea was watching the race intently on a borrowed view screen. She'd never seen the like of it before...
"Bit violent, aren't they? Isn't that cheating?" She asked of a gruff looking human male huddled in a seat nearby.
He merely shrugged. "Not in this sport, doll."

Vialo kept her eyes on Mortis's pod-racer and shunted into the back of it. The Tuskin Raiders continued to shoot, but then directed their fire at Mortis.
