I’d never been one to turn down credits, never been one to turn down much to my own benefit. But sometimes there are more important things to worry about, sometimes you need to put your own skin aside and do what’s right, this was on of those times. It was a cold night on Nar Shaddaa, the back alley was dank and was strewn with the foul smell of blood. Sabre turned into it, staring vacantly over the terrain in front of him. I was lost, not physically but mentally, not half a standard hour ago there were reports of a murder here, yet now there were no police nothing, typical Nar Shadda. His eyes scanned up and down the graffiti covered mason brick wall. The building either side were, high, and they looked strangely like two large onyx hands reaching into a black scorched sky. The sound of thunder drummed throughout the alley, flashing over the bins and empty packaging littering the floor. I wasn’t afraid to admit the lightning gave me a shock, maybe even more, because as it flashed, it illuminates the bloodstains splattered up the right wall.

Barrill had also heard of a murder, a crime made in the alley. He was making his way through the alley, thinking he would find where the crime scene was from all of the authorities were crowded, but he found none. Instead, he found an old Jedi, a man he had once known, not quite well, but known as a great Jedi. He had wondered what has happened to him, having never seen him again, and seeing him on a night, almost creepy, surprised him.
"Greetings, Sabre."
He made his way towards him, steadily, and stopped not 10 feet from him. He also noticed the blood stain as the lightning struck.

Barrill I’Nien, a young misguided Jedi I had once known. Rumour had it he had a spell as leader of the Dark Jedi, rumours were often wrong, but the taint was clear. Even through the stench of blood I felt slicing through my nostrils. He took his cigarette in his hand, he brought it to his mouth, breathing in his own death warrant, the orange glow from the tip of the cigarette illuminated his otherwise dark shrouded face. “I would ask what your doing here,” he said knowingly glaring at Barill as he flicked his lightsaber down, casting particles of ash onto the rain sodden road. “But I guess I already know the answer,” he finished. I hated cigarettes, the taste was foul, but the feeling seemed to patch together my strewn soul, bit by bit. I knew the small talk was pointless, however the only, lead to where my next “appointment” was didn’t seem to be going anywhere.

Barrill took the glare without returning it. He was used to recieving glares, especially from Jedi who had heard of him being the leader of the Dark Jedi. He didn't want to start anything, though, and just continuing the small talk as if he didn't notice the glare.
"And what is that?"

He was an tricky little shit, not worth my time really. I hated the awkward talks with old acquaintances, knew them well enough to be expected to reciprocate, yet not well enough to feel comfortable doing so. I always preferred working solo, traumatic experiences would do that to you, everybody I get close to dies or betrays me, that’s life. He took another deep breathe of his cigarette, breathing out the fumes into the dank bitter air. “My guess would be,” he said, looking at the bloodstained wall. “You’re here investigating the murder,” he completed hoarsely.

This former Jedi obviosly didn't like Barrill, but he didn't mind. He took a step towards the blood stain on the wall, no words said. He studied the blood; it was still a bit fresh. This murder had been done recently, meaning the criminal couldn't have left the city.
"Look, I can tell you don't like me much, but working together could be a mutual benefit. Better to have two than one. What do you say?"

He was quite presumptuous; Truth was I had no beef with the kid, just met me on the wrong day. I wasn’t a people person, clear to see, but making an effort wouldn’t kill me. Sabre nodded gruffly, “Sure kiddo,” he said. He took another breathe of his cig before dropping it on the floor, then stepping on it, swivelling his foot to grind it into the wet stone ally. “Any clues to who’s blood it is?” Sabre said, pointing nudging his head at the blood strewn over the wall. I already knew who’s blood it was, a girl named Kat Serlin’s, it was all over the news, girl missing, it was plain to see how it happened. She’s come down this ally, looking for a “job,” instead she met something looking for more than just a good time.

Barrill already knew who the victim was, from the news, but the attacker was still unknown. When examining the blood, he noticed the odd positioning of where the blood was, and knew immediatley it was a rape. The girl that was raped was called Kat Serlin.
"It is the blood of a girl named Kat Serlin."
Barrill figured this guy would know as much already, from the millions of news reports. He was probably just testing him, though, to see if he was a worthy parnter.
"And this crime was committed within the last 4 hours, from the color and dryness of the blood."

Kid looked to know a bit about tracking, probably not as much as me, but I never can remember it being taught at the Jedi Academy. I had to figure out what to do fast, the longer I took the lower the chance of the girl still being alive was. I was holding out a private hope, but that’s all it was, hope. “A good assumption, couldn’t say quite how long it’s been though. The rain has kept the blood moist, two things to be tried. We could spend hours to figure out the drip rate and average rain speed, that would give us some knowledge, or; as I prefer,” he said stepping forward laying his cigarette free hand on the blood. He stared coldly as the blood began to drips over his fingernails and down over the back of his hand. After a few moments he pulled it off bringing it up to his nose and sniffing it. “Smells acidic, maybe two parts water to one part blood, that leaves it from 3-6 hours. Considering the first new report on it was aired 4 hours ago and it takes about an hour for it to be scripted, I’ll give it roughly 5 hours,” he finished.

This man also had some talent with tracking and figuring out problems. Barrill had taken a rough estimate on the time in between now and the rape. It didn't matter about what he had said, though. There wasn't time to talk while a girl's life was in stake! There was no body, so that means the girl might still be alive, despite the amount of blood she had lost.
"Their are many possible ways out of the city, which means they could've left it by now. I could possibly take Nimien out and search the surrounding lands."
Barrill was sensitive, meaning he could sense lifeforms around. If there were no people outside of the city, which there probably wasn't, he could head out to the surrounding lands with Nimien and search around while Sabre searched inside the city borders. It seemed Sabre would probably have more connections in the city than would Barrill.

“It would make sense, but I don’t think they’ve left the city. Why leave a land of a million hiding places to expose yourself in the outback. Doesn’t add up. I think I can track them, you wanna follow me that’s cool, I think I’ve met this guy before, and he’s a toughie, even by my standards. “ He said, his eyes gazing slowly up the bloodstained wall. Looked like I was in for another tracking job, admittedly one of only a few skills I excelled at. I knew Barill was going to weigh me down, but I was glad for the help, an extra pair of hands was always good. The blood trailed up to the roof, on normal circumstances this would be unusual, but this guy wasn’t a normal guy. Sabre suddenly made a leap, hit feet hitting the wall 20 meters up, his hand grabbing onto a window ledge. He moved his face forward sniffing the wall beside the window. Before tilting his head to look behind him, and jumping onto the roof of the opposite building.

Barrill nodded, the search evidently starting, and Force-Jumped up, following Sabre up for the moment. The blood ran up the building, and onto the roof. It trailed on the ground, just some drops, until it just suddenly stopped. The criminal must've realized the blood would give away his trail, and somehow covered up the rest. Barrill whistled, a special whistle, and Nimien, his well-trained Condor Dragon, humbly flew into the area, over to Barrill. He told Nimien to find the scent of this certain blood, and of the two humans, and track it. It took a couple of seconds, but Nimien caught the scent, and Barrill hopped on.
"Do you want to come with us or do you prefer to work alone?"
Barrill was going to have Nimien track down the killer, whether Sabre came or not. It might be better if Sabre went with them, but it was up to Sabre, obviously, to make his choice. Barrill was Force-Sensitive, meaning he could track down Sabre if he found the rapist with his victim before him.
