*i roll my eyes and look at Kain*

"I liked the threads, too. I seemed so...pedestrian. Not anymore, of course..."

*I turn back to Erylan*

"So, what do you think, Erylan? Will you help us capture this guy? It'll help clean up Correlia, for sure."

*She looks up at Kain and I with sorrowful eyes.*

Erylan: I...grew up here, on Correlia. I'll...do something to help you. I want this to be a good place for people to live, for people to be safe.

*she takes a deep sigh and speaks again*

Erylan: Saeson Vass tries to keep his name low aorund here, and does a good job doing it. Hes a fairly regular here at the Blue Sky, but most think hes just an alcoholic. He's hired my services more than once, and I know a lot about him. He's murdered at least four men who owed him money, all of them good people. I remember...I know a man who went by Frerys Gordon. A spacer working for the Republic, bringing goods to the Jedi Academy here. You may have seen him at the academy, since you are Jedi...

Anyway, it seems he bought some stuff, illegal stuff, from Saeson more than once, and Saeson wanted payment. So he took it from Frerys, by force... Frerys might have done the wrong thing, but he was a good person, he didn't deserve what Vass did to him. But..now he's gone....

Whats passed is past now, i guess, and i need to get over it... but what i can do now may be invaluable to you. Vass has a shop, a spice shop, down in some of the worse parts of Correlia. It is near here....a few blocks west, in a darkened allyway. You should be able to find it, its near an old, large sign that says "Czerka Corp."You may find him there...

Kain: Youve been a big help, Eralyn. Thank you...

*the two of us bow, and leave her in the room, wading through the cantina back into the streets*

:: Duncan and I make our way down Blue Sky Boulevard until we come to a small intersection...::

"This looks like the alley she described to us...I have a bad feeling about this master...Lets get our sabers out of our packs. I have a feeling we will be needing them very soon..."

::The hairs on my arm begin to stand on end..I sense an aura of coldness emanating from within the spice shop, as if the force has been somehow manipulated by the beings inside...::

"Duncan whoever lies within is very powerful, the force is tainted by the meer presence of the man. Do you sense it too?"

"I do. He has been trained in the Jedi arts, most certainly... Ill try to-- no, wait. He's cut my connection off from the Force. Whoever this is must be pretty powerful, to detect and cut off my connection so quickly. Be ready..."

*I pull out my sabres from my pack, but keep them disignited for now. We enter the ally cautiously, and see a lone, dark figure at the end, near a few large plasteel containers and refridgeration units. He steps out of the shadows to greet us both*

Saeson: Ahh, two more Jedi from the academy. You must be Duncan and you Lightbringer.

*he points to the two of us in turn.*

Saeson: Well, if youre here to capture me, go ahead and try. Its not likely at all you'll succeed however.

*Saeson pulls something from his belt and twirls it around. He presses a button on it, and a crimson bolt of energy streaks out from both ends.*

Saeson: i got this from a powerful Dark Jedi that got in my way. I have plenty more, and it seems I shall have three more in a moment.

Me: Saeson...

*i ignite both my sabres, and Kain does the same with his own*

Me: It doesnt need to come to this. You've been corrupted to the dark side, turned to murdering and selling spice for a living. It doesnt need to be that way...

*Saeson chuckles a bit as he looks at me*

Saeson: Rejoin the Jedi? Youre serious, aren't you? More Jedi babbling....now why would i rejoin the Order that sent two of its members to kill me? Theyd probably execute me on sight....

Kain: The Jedi wouldnt do th---

Saeson: Silence, fool. Enough prattle. Let me just relieve you of life, and get on with it.

:: Duncan and I converge on the dark jedi with lightning speed, are movements in perfect harmony. Flashes of stormcloud Azure, jungle green and crimson red dance upon the walls encasing the alley. I flip-twist over the dark jedi taking up a position behind him as Duncan continues his unrelenting frontal assault. The dark jedi works his double bladed lightsaber with cruel efficiency....::

*Vass attempts a strike with one end, which i grab between both my sabres. He breaks his way free, and attempts an attack on Kain behind him, which Kain blocks.

I step back and use a strong Force Push on Vass. He reflects most of it, but in the crowded allyway, its enough to send him tumbling into the durasteel next to him. He hits his head with a loud clang on the plating, but miraculously gets up once more*

Saeson: Fools, it'll take much more than a lucky blow to defeat me...."

*Vass sends a Force Lightning at both of us. I create two Force Bubbles to disappate the attack.*

"Give up, Vass, you're not gonna win..."

::I can barely hear my own voice over the constant hum of the lightsaber battle...::

"Duncan! Use the Parrigian claw technique!"

::In trained unison we attack together, I twist my attacks high and left while Duncan concentrates his attacks low and to the right, both of us rotating in a circle around the dark jedi making Saeson over extend himself in an effort to counter the pincer attack...::

*Finally, after a surprisingly good defense put up by Vass, Kain lands a blow on his elbow, creating a fairly deep wound, and I follow up with a huge gash all the way from Saeson's knee to his ankle. The Sith crashes to the floor, and I take advantage of his already weary and hurt form to use Force Pull and take away his lightsabre*

Me: Vass, you are defeated. Give up now, we dont want to kill you.

Vass: You Jedi dont have the *he coughs for a moment* guts to kill me. I dont need my lightsabre to defeat you...

*He uses a Force Choke on the two of us, cackling maniacally. I break his concentration, however, by dropping all three sabres (my two and Vass's double-bladed) to the floor and pulling out my specialized blasters. The feather trigger is efficient, and I deal out a massive volley of blaster fire at him. Focusing on choking the two of us, and without his lightsabre to deflect the blasts, almost all of the shots connect, and send him to the ground, dead. The two of us are dropped to the ground*

Me: He's dead....I shouldnt have pulled my blasters on him, but he would never give up until he was dead...

*i sigh, and pick up the three sabres*

Me: Kain, you did a good job fighting this guy. The Parrigian Claw Technique was a good idea, and it worked efficiently. i think you should have this.

*i hand Kain the double-bladed sabre*

Me: Although Dark Jedi are notorious for using these, there have been Jedi who used them as well. You may want to change the color crystal, but it is a good weapon. I have used one for a time, and can give you some training with it. That is, unless youd rather use your single sabre.

::I recall my childhood memories of when I would run down to the local book store with my week's allowance eagerly looking for the latest copy of "Knight's of the old Republic" I loved reading the stories of the valiant jedi knights and their fight against the evil sithlords.
My favorite jedi was Master Oothun Vandeer. I remember seeing pictures of him fighting sith assassins with his double bladed lightsaber...and smiled.::

::I look down at the elongated lightsaber hilt, then back up at Duncan...::

"Thank you Master Duncan....I am forever your student.::

:: Duncan and I make our way out onto the busy streets of Blue Sector and disappear into the orange haze of the setting Corellian sun....::
