I'm sick to fucking death of people OOCing in the RP forums! If you want to OOC go to the sodding OOC forum or PM someone! You are only allowed to OOC in the RP forum if you say, for example: "Sorry I g2g" or something with extreme importance. If someone pisses you off then contact and effin' mod or admin! Anyone OOCing and being a complete fuckwad at the same time will be banned for 24 hours without a warning. GET IT?!!!!Thank you The SWRP Team p.s. this is me right now!:

(I kinda consider this a ooc post in the RP forums but yeah, question about this rule - Are you allowed to put 'notes' in ooc, as in 'End of topic' or explaining something that would take ages to do IC)

this rule is too harsh. Who cares if OOC is used inside a topic in the rp forum or not? If you dont like the OOC comments then dont read'em or if you are so dedicated to stopping OOC then dont OOC at all just pm the person or persons you need to talk to. Appling this rule to everyone just because the Admin gets a lil irriated is not a good idea. It sends the message that you are trying to take more control of how people act here Jetzt and i think thats wrong. Take my word for it........trying to dictate how people act and post will eventually back fire in your face.

That’s rich coming from you Dan... especially since you were the one who told me to write it. Now listen. I get PMs every day with people complaining to me about people OOCing in the RP area too much... and they do. It is becoming impossible to RP without Sin and Kellan interrupting with OOCing. I don’t mind but I am just sick to death of the constant PMing... and since I haven’t had a PM about it since this warning has been up, I believe it is working. Its not really me that the OOCing is pissing off, it is the other RPers. Shut up. You are the last person I need to be lecturing me on morals and how to run a forum. People can OOC if they like as long as I don’t get another PM, complaining about pointless out of character remarks.

I see this as a pointless rule. Really.......think about it. You can make a rule you can't be pmed about OOC in Roleplays.

I think that is stupid in some ways. People should only OOC if necessary. Don't say: "OOC: That is hilarious, but what are you planning to do next?" No, that is crap. But OOC for: "OOC: I have to make another post but I don't have the time tonight so PLEASE nobody post involving the rancor battle. Can you wait a day? Thanks a lot!" Only do it if you need to make a serious comment to MULTIPLE people, because singulars can be done over PMs. But perhaps in the Storyline is better so EVERYONE knows. I am an Administrator too and I am just giving my two cents... probably worth more than that though

I own like 40 roleplays (only 2 are active), am a g-mod at other roleplays, and even modded a huge roleplay area with over 500 members (I quit after they made healing illegal. Now that they have made it legal again I don't feel like posting htere again.) And I have joined over a thousand rps. And none forum-based rp has made OOC illegal. Seriously, what if it pretains to the plot or something. Rewrite ro remove the law.
(And no I haven't advertised this place....)

I think the rule is fine... I say that you should only OOC in the RP section if it is something of utter importance. Saying something like "Thread Closed" or whatever would be fine, but it gets really annoying if someone OOC's just about something stupid like spelling. Ex. "OOC: BTW, its but, not Butt." Im sure I saw this somewhere.... its extremely annoying.

Don't you guys know what OOC means?
Anyways here are some ideas of what it should be. Its not really any type of rules but like a Guide Line
The best way to achieve this is by following the following tips:
1-Be descriptive. Don't just post what attack you are doing.Pretend that you are there.Describe in detail the backdrop.Your character's state of mind. How the wind echos through the canyon. How your character's muscles tense with the strike. How the sweat drips from his brow.
The more detail you put into your posts, the easier it is for people reading it to imagine that they are there and can see it happening.
2-Less cheese! Too often what should be a duel between two zen-like swordsmen turns into two guys lopping off limbs and killing the other guy in every post.I don't know about you,but I refuse to believe that there is not a single Jedi or Sith in the galaxy that can block or parry.lol
Save the dismemberment and the killing to the last post, folks.Otherwise what you end up with is a duel in with both fighters have to out cheese the other. Plus it doesn't make very good or believable reading.
3-Stay IC(In Character)! If you're a Jedi, don't rush into every duel screaming like a maniac and trying to chop the other guy up into tiny pieces.Jedi are supposed to be calm, remember? The same goes for Sith laughing like jackals and whatnot.
Try to speak also like you are that character.Never use modern lingo and slang.Never in any of the films or books do you see a Sith yell at his opponent after a strike,"YOU GOT PWNED,BIOTCH!" See?Silly and OoC(Out of Character).
Also, there will be some cheap-artists that will claim an OoC post counts to your total.Don't give them the chance.Treat the Duel as if it was real.As if you're in danger.
4-Spell Check. Please. PLEASE. Nothing can ruin a good post more than bad spelling and typos.Think before you hit the keys. Also re-read the post before you hit the "post message" button. (Currently,I've noticed that the Board's built in Spell Check is alittle wonky.I hope to have it fixed by the end of the week)
---------------------------------------------------------------- Now,lets see the above rules put in action. Here is the opening moves to a duel.Notice the differance... -----------------------------------------------------------------
Bad Post: "Bring it!!!"
*Ignites Purple lightsaber*
*Han runs at Darth GS with force speed and makes him dizzy.*
"HOYAAAA!!!"
*Han stops and lunges at DANEK and cuts his hand off.
Good Post: Darth GS could make out the look of satisfaction on Solo's face in the shadows.
"Your mind is clouded by your poor teaching,Solo. You strike at phantoms."
Darth GS walked out of the blackness behind Solo and let the effect of the Horror he had inflicted on the confused man fade. As the realization of the mind trick took hold,Darth GS rushed him with both lightsabers raised, reverse grip.
Solo matched the movement with his own Force Speed, raising his lightsaber to block the two that were surely heading for a collision with his neck.
In his mind's eye, time seemed to slow for Danek. He slid his thumb over the pressure sensor on his right hand's saber, shortening the blade two inches.
Solo was able to meet the saber Darth GS carried in his left hand with a successful block, but the shorter right hand saber glided past.
The two combatants made eye contact at that moment, and Danek smirked as he slid his thumb over the plate again, extending the blade back to it's full length. It seared a scar into Solo's cheek.
Darth GS disengaged.Standing a few feet away,he eyed his enemy.
"You attacked first. With ferocity and intent. You are already beginning to walk the path."
Notice that not only did the Good Post negate the cheese of the bad one,but it also followed the points I mentioned, and was better to read because of it.
So in closing, when playing the RPG,Dueling or both, following these points will not only make you a better RPer,but it will also help you enjoy the RPG more.
