See this is why I think polotics should be mainly left out of things, seeing the large diversity and views here, its a breeding ground for arguments that we could do with out.. For your information, I am A torie technically, and in the States Im technically Libertarian, but am very conservitive, Because I think all the soft pussy ass hippy crap that is spreading about,, getting government to pay for all these programs to basically reward people for being lazy in the developed countries make people weak, dis-illusioned, and that is why the smallest of events throw every one into a chaotic dispair,,, , no I dont care about aa persons race, sexual preferance, faith what have you, it does not matter, and should NEVER be used as an exscuse to get a free ride or forced on anyone...
that may have pissed people off, so it proves a point, (though to me its true) I just dont like seeing people blow up over political matters, MORE so when the majority who get really nasty about it are too young to honestly understand it and mearly echo thier parents, or what ever the " cool thing is"..*Im not saying everyone, or anyone directly* the Matron has spoken

Well thats it ladies and gentlemen, only 12 hours to go until the polling opens and 10 hours after that they clos. So in 22 hours the next Government for the great country of New Zealand forthe next 3 years will be decided. Note that this will be the first time that I have gotten to vote, ever! It will be an experience.

You only have the policies that are provided for you in the website I provided at the start. So just look at the policies and decide which party you would pick if it were your country. |

Well thats it people! Except for a few special votes all of the votes in the 2005 New Zealand General Elections have been put in and counted. It came down to two parties with very similar values for the percentage and seats and it is not yet clear who will ally with who and if a clear government will be formed. Any way below are the percentages and seat numbers for the major parties.
Labour - 40.7% = 50 seats
National - 39.6% = 40 seats
NZ First - 5.8% = 7 seats
Green - 5.1% = 6 seats
Maori - 2.0% = 4 seats
United Future - 2.7% = 3 seats
Act - 1.5% = 2 seats
Progressive - 1.2% = 1 seat
