I am excited to see General Greivous in action, but I think that in terms of overall badassness, Sideous/Palpatine takes the cake. He only pulled off the collapse of the Sentate and the Republic, he pretty much beats down anyone who challanges him. Plus, I love it when he talks to Luke in RotJ. He is SO condesending to him. Love it, I tell you.

Vader is cool as a movie villian,, and a god for that yes, I do have a life size replica of vader stature thing ,, but ulitimatly Vader was the reason the Empire fell...
He as over confidant,, well palpy was too alittle
He waisted far too many resourses * ships, and personael" when there were other more pratical ways.. The rebels would not have been able to overwhelm the empire as often had vader learned management skills

If this is movies only then my " Adena" statement stands......but if EU is allowed my view is differant.
Grand Admiral Palleaon...for his charm, and brilliant mind
Grand Admiral Thrawn..same reasons,, but he got himself killed to that dropped him a bit
Mara Jade Skywalker ( you know Luke fears her deep down, and SHE wears the pants inthe house hold)
I like Taniel Ka as well,, don't know why though,, Jacen should never have let her go

yeah,, Canderous is up there too,,, I really am not fond of characters based on their powers,, to me thats,, I don't know sorta childish because the characters seem to have less scope to them.. Characters like Thrawn, or winter or Han who DONT have powers seem much more real to me,,and are more enjoyable to read about
