The Jedi would not want to defend Nar Shaada. The planet is not in Republic space. It is controlled by the Hutts.

The Hutts control Nar shadda, and I point out every pirate, slaver, smuggler bountyhunter would defend it...
the Empire was NEVER able to take anything from the Hutts, nore could the New Republic...
so you should realise how incredably difficult it would be
