Simple mediation may not be enough. Thus, Jedi Knights trained in diplomacy may be opened into the world of politics. They are not spoken of widely, for they have no glory to claim. They listen, observe, advise upon occasion, and that is all they do. And yet they hold power that all diplomats have. The power of interpretation.

Tulmok is not well known, despite his experience, his attunement with the force, and his once considered possibility of being a lesser Jedi Master, in which he declined outright. None could recognize his wizened gaze, except the few he keeps company with, who dwindle as the former generation of the order begins to die, and the new comes in. Tulmok is a relic of this old generation. And with this, he sees great danger. Not a menace of Sith, or some great evil waiting. He sees a change in the direction of the Jedi. He seesa the Jedi losing their neutrality. And after all these years, being an advocate for the Republic, he finally has grown to despise it, as it becomes too dependent upon the order to be peacekeepers and police, when that is the Republic's place.

Tulmok now only smiles weakly when this new generation utters the Jedi code, without realizing the meaning, and taking interpretations. The Jedi do not deserve to be demeaned to slaves of the Republic. Tulmok watches as this new generation is beginning to be slowly converted, at least in his foresight, towards blindness. Blindness, for whatever intent, is the greatest danger of all. Tulmok remembers the old teachings of the Jedi, and when the Jedi sought balance. When the balance is disrupted, disaster comes.

Tulmok is now searching for something, or someone, in which he can put this, and create a new testament. Something must be done, maybe not quite some drastic action. But more and more, Tulmok takes to the counsel of holocrons in which he has attained, both recording and engrossing himself in knowledge. Even he has fallen into decay, which only brings mroe desperation. He can only wait, for it to come to him, as he does not seem to have the will to do it himself.
