Hey! Just wondering about this. If Anakin can mind trick a creature in Attack of the Clones, how come Luke Skywalker didn’t do it to the Rancor in Return of the Jedi? (SuperShadow: Plot mistake. Obviously, Luke should have used the powers of the Force on the Rancor. Lucas dropped the ball on this one.)
ME: I think Rancors have some resistence to force powers but I could be wrong...
Or even mind trick the guards to let him out of the Rancor pit? (SuperShadow: Plot error. What can I say? Lucas isn‘t Einstein.) Force choke the darn thing or something. (SuperShadow: Hahaha. I love your sense of humor.) Luke's a Jedi and he should be smart enough to use his powers when needed. (SuperShadow: I agree with you. Maybe we should blame the scriptwriter: Lawrence Kasdan.)
ME: I think that luke didn't persuade them because he was too busy fighting the freaking rancor...
Also Luke should have Force pushed the bad guys off the sand skiffs during the rescue and let them fall into the Sarlaac Pit. (SuperShadow: Another plot debacle. This is getting ugly.) ME: If he had force push those guards, the wave could have stroke chewy, han etc....Thus killing all of them.
