These rules regard everybody, no exceptions will be made for the plain and simple reason that should one person not follow them other people will be less inclined too.
1) When making a profile you need to create the character not just as storage of events and updates but to paint a picture in the minds of those you may encounter or even interact with. By doing this it saves you typing out all your character mannerisms and personality traits.
2) In conjunction with the first rule I’m going to provide a good example of a Roleplay Profile layout, you don’t have to use it but if your new and aren’t sure what to put on your profile I strongly suggest you do. The example can be found in the thread Profile Template (New Members Read).
3) Posting in people’s profiles is not against the rules, however talking in them is. The staff here have absolutely no problem at all with constructive comments, or compliments, however when people start posting pointlessly and talking in profile’s that’s when there’s a problem. Breaking of this rule can result in a warning and if broken multiple times a ban. If you don’t understand it PM me before posting, there really is no excuse.
4) Alright, I want to make this very clear, comical and joke characters are not allowed. This rule is based upon the views expressed in the Star Wars Roleplaying Game Revised Core Rulebook. It states that comical characters are controversial, and that if you allow them you need to be prepared for comical roleplaying. In the end we needed to decide whether it was worth it, after all there are so many open threads these characters could just enter and wreck. In the end the logical choice was to ban them.
Just to clarify, if your character has a funny personality, or comical traits that’s fine, its just when characters are made as jokes or unrealistically.
5) Just for the record you can have as many characters that you like, I of all people understand how restricting one character can be so it is completely acceptable to have more.
6) EVERY time you make a modification to your profile you need to post update and what you updated. There is a very simple reason for this, when you post update it knocks your thread to the first page, I can then enter it, check up on what you updated and make sure you haven’t been unreasonable with it. For example if you’ve just modified your force powers list, post ; “Update, Force Powers” I can make sure you are the right rank to have them, then congratulate you on gaining them.
