She was discovered by a group of smugglers who took her in until she turned 17 yrs old. She left on her own after that trying to find her place and took on a life of smuggling and bounty hunting. She made her way to Coruscant and discovered the Crime Organization called the Black Suns were looking for smugglers and bounty hunters. She joined up but quickly left after finding out the leader, Lord Sin, was determined to destroy all Jedi. She couldn't let that happen after befriending a few. She decided to join the Order. While attending to the people of Iziz after a battle, the truth behind Kyra's heritage wasrevealed. She is the heir to the throne after the death of her mother, Talia. Now many obstacles and decisions are before her and the people of Onderon. After her first encounter with Lirreka on Dxun, Kyra had trouble fighting back anger towards the woman. Tiera-Qel, Lirreka's daughter managed to further her hatred by snagging her daughter while pretending to be Kyra to Anakin Lishto, then a Nem'vaah. Over time, Tie managed to infiltrate the Jedi acting like Adena to create doubts about the loyalty of the Supreme Chancellor to the Republic. Also at this time, Kit Rendar, confessed his love for Kyra before he knew his wife was still alive. Filled with pain, anger and hatred, she went to Coruscant to get away and find out if the rumors about the Supreme Chancellor were true. What she found there she did not expect. The darkness had consumed Jetzt once again and he showed her the future and helped her tap into her anger and hatred. The bond was formed....master and apprentice....and more than that. She trained in the shadows with him as their love grew. In the final battle of Darth Boli, she saw her love and master rise once again to claim the mantle....the mantle of Dark Lord of the Sith. However, as time passed and as she delved more deeply into the secrets of the Ebonclaws in her adventuring to seek ways to destroy them, she reconnected with some feelings she had thought she lost. Wisdom replaced the anger and some of the hatred. She knew she could no longer stand to be the pawn of anyone. No, she had to step out on her own and use her skills and abilities for herself. This wasn't about the Sith or Jedi anymore. This was about her. Leaving the sith, she left behind the name Selae. She knew that now many would seek to kill her. However, her future remains to be written. She had something in mind already....
After a twist of fate, Kyra was stuck in the body of the Heir of the Ebonclaws, Adesia. Facing her in a duel upon Mustafar, she watched her own body with the mind of Adesia perish in the lava. She was now forced to live her life as Adesia...her arch enemy. She found out later that Kit and Adesia (who was inside Kyra's body at the time....yes I know it's confusing) spent a night together and conceived a child. Though she killed her body, Adesia had removed the fetus from her womb and placed it aboard a organic ship to develop. Kit and Kyra found out about the child and Kyra was determined to kill the spawn of Adesia. Though the child was the image of herself and Kit and bore their genetics, she could only focus on how the child was conceived by Adesia and was possibly her incarnate. Her life turned even more chaotic when she returned as Adesia. Lirreka informed her that she really was meant to be Adesia but the wheel of life had been disrupted before her birth. Instead she was forced into the body of Kyra Maans. Dealing with this new idea of really being the heir and forever staring at her face as Adesia began to wear heavily upon her. After falling in love with Barzai, they conceived a child. She thought things would actually work out...she could finally have the family she always wanted. Yet, as the child continued to grow and hormones raged, her mind became twisted. She was obsessed with ending the legacy of Adesia fully...and that meant killing Phaera. While attempting to kill the adoptive daughter, she was met by Lirreka who tried to stop her. Battling one another, the child within 'Desia's womb knew it needed to be protected and drew upon the Force and weaving to speed up her development and force her birth...hence Sayre was born...the child of 'Desia and Barzai. Unable to look at the chid without seeing the face of Adesia, she abandoned the child with Lirreka and ran away. It was then Sable, the Sith witch captured her and gave her a chance of having her dream...her own body and self back. Giving in to the illusion of an old friend and mother figure, Kyra sucombs to Sable and her essence is transferred into an exact genetic replica, or clone, of herself. Once again, Kyra Maans was reborn.
